Just really disappointed in the fact that my date and I sat in there for 25 minutes and not one person said one word. Not one. That really sucked. We literally got up and went to a bowling alley down the street and instantly felt welcomed. Wish pier 54 a lot of success and growth. This might be the first review I’ve ever left, hated it but if there’s an opportunity for growth I’m all in.
I usually don’t post unless the experience was memorable. Well this one was and not for the right reasons. 2 deal breakers for me returning even though Pier 54 has been a go to place for me and my family for the last 12-15 years. 1. No options for the elderly. Most restaurants will let you order from the kids section - and there is only one kid’s option here. $15 chicken strips…. But if you are over 10 and order it - the price goes to $25 per the manager who called her boss to make sure that was the case. So my elderly mother chose not to eat at all instead of paying the outrageous price. 2. After we paid our guest from out of town found a hair in her otherwise amazing burger. We didn’t say anything (point was moot at that point) but nevertheless it was a gross way to end the evening. Here’s the kicker. It was my birthday and I chose a place that has good food, great atmosphere and almost always excellent service. The ONE person who didn’t eat picked up the bill which is irony in my opinion. The staff did nothing wrong (except quality control for the hair). Since management chooses to essentially stand their ground on ANYONE over the age of 10 paying 67% more for the same chicken tenders…. They I chose to spend my time and future birthdays elsewhere. Even though it’s getting harder and harder to find good “mom & pop” type small businesses to support. Good luck to the owners and staff. We genuinely hope you rethink your policy.
Our first time with family was great! The food was delicious . Though service could have been better, we appreciated the atmosphere to relax with fresh breeze eating by the water. We will definitely come again. My husband chose the restaurant; I questioned at first, but I am glad he chose it. Every dish was very fresh.
If you have asthma or don’t like cigarette smoke this is not the place for you. There is a non-smoking area, but it’s an open outdoor area and the smoke travels. There are fans but only one was on and not very effective. The food wasn’t worth the price but it was good. I ordered the Shrimp off the appetizer menu. I had 5 shrimp in some pasta sauce and 2 pieces of toasted bread for 18 dollars. The burger and fries were a little cheaper. Service was great and fast on a Friday night around 8pm. They do have a pet friendly area. The place is cute with covered patio areas and bar outside. It’s nestled in a neighborhood. Parking: Parking is ample.
Food was delicious, had to wait a little bit for it. Burger was suppose to have avocado on it and it didn’t when it came out. Also asked for ranch originally which needed to be asked for again when the food came out. Waiter came out with both and was super nice. Had to wait a while to get paid out. I especially came out for single ladies night which includes $4.50 cocktails. Ordered the mojito. Total for just the drink came out as $11. I asked why it wasn’t the special price and he said because I didn’t order it with well rum. No where on the menu does it say that you must order the cocktails with well. And he couldn’t take the price down to the special price. Bummer. Maybe put that rule on the menu? 3 stars because as a server myself I thought the server was nice but the service was slow on a slow night. Food was delicious but didn’t come out right at first. And the whole specialty drink price isn’t so special.
The food is actually really good!
Fun little place on the water. It is all outside, and we were there on a lovely evening with great weather. I got chicken skewers with french fries that were delicious.
