Amazing unique Thai food!
The food is not bad at all !
While visiting Seattle, I had dinner with family at Pestle Rock. Located on a busy street in the Ballard neighborhood, the space itself was small, but did not feel cramped. Our attentive server suggested some dishes for us to try. The menu was extensive without being overwhelming and had options for meat eaters and vegans, alike. My group enjoyed everything we ordered.
Hey, Thai restaurant specializing in cuisine of the Isan region of Thailand, which apparently features less curries and more grilled meats and spicy salads than the Bangkok style cuisine. Most Americans are used to. The offerings were certainly unique (and the pork jerky was delicious!) but I felt the portion sizes were a bit small for the price. Certainly worth trying though if you’d like to sample something beyond the typical pad Thai/pad see ew! Vegetarian options: There are fewer vegetarian options here(meat dishes are more emphasized in Isan cuisine), but they are available
The ambience is great, nice decorative lights inside of the restaurant. The service is prompt. Coming to the food, I sadly wouldn't come back here. The food is very average, small portions too. I have had a lot of good Thai food in Seattle. This did not make it to the list. I ordered Khao Klook Ka Pe, the shrimp paste fried rice, but didn't enjoy it. I substituted the pork belly sauce with a regular Thai sauce. My husband ordered khao soi with tofu. Its one of our favorite Thai dishes but this one didn't meet the bar, it was much better than the fried rice, had decent flavors but we have had way tastier versions. We had a $80 bill for 2 people with 2 dishes, one tamarind soda and 2 cocktails (includes 20% default gratuity fee). Not at all satisfied given the amount we spent.
