Perenn Midtown

I’ve been coming to Perenn for over a year and have always loved it, but the shrinkflation here is real. Just today they started giving a tiny little croissant-like bun on the breakfast sandwiches, rather than the actual croissant that you used to get, while charging the same price. So disappointing and definitely not worth the $, I would have asked for my money back but unfortunately I got it to go and didn’t open the box until after I left.

What a gem of a place. Delicious pastries and a super friendly staff make this place shine. Great coffee too with a free refill on drip house blends.

My almond croissant costs nowadays $9.74 excluding a tip. It feels like the croissant also “shrank” compared with a couple of years ago. The taste is still good, but I wonder if the almond croissant was “baked fresh” the same day: it was very crispy and not at all moist inside… Good thing is they are no longer sold out at 10,00 AM in the morning. I also used to like Perenn because they didn’t ask for tips because they paid a healthy salary to their employees (justifying a higher priced item) But this also has changed…

This place has really good food, however the prices are very high. You pay for what you get. I’m now editing my review since this time around the food is better and the service is excellent! Vegetarian options: Maybe need specific instructions for vegan, there are options
