It seems like a cool store but employees are always on break! What’s the deal? I’ve come by at 5pm multiple times, always a sign that says “please come back later”. I will update my review if the shop is staffed next time I go there.
Such good work, congrats. Delicious.
love this spot. the staff are knowledgeable, kind, honest and really meet you where you're at.
Friendly staff. She made excellent suggestions. I love that this place was a quiet respite from the otherwise louder hall of Essex market
Either it was spoiled or your taste buds are in hipster mode
Came here for wine + banchan by sunny. First off, I have to say that I love a good bar where you can watch your food being prepared. It's a much more intimate experience than a big restaurant. Secondly, and this is perhaps the one hesitation I have about this concept, is that anyone familiar with Korean food will know that banchan (i.e. side dishes) are usually "complimentary" in the sense that you're paying for the main dishes and the banchan come with your meal. Here, you are paying at least $20/person for banchan. It's a little hard to swallow, but... take comfort in knowing the banchan and main dishes are very good. And I suppose the whole idea is to make banchan the centerpiece of the meal. Besides the banchan, we shared the ssam (small portion) and two appetizers which I have now forgotten (but I swear they were delicious in the moment). We were talked into trying the crispy butter mochi for dessert, which was pretty unique and a solid ending to the meal. Menu changes seasonally if not more often.
Best place to buy wine in the city. The food is outrageously good as well.
Best natural wine shop in New York City. Shop looks like a chic gallery for wine!
