There’s not many places that I would recommend going to a state just to eat at. However, Pelican & Pig is that kind of restaurant. My wife and I ate here while in the state of Tennessee and it is now a reason I would go back. The food was amazing, the service was awesome, the bartender knew their stuff, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the overall experience left us wanting to come back and hoping they would open a place in Virginia.
The thought that went into creating this is fantastic, a great menu of shareable sides and a few but well executed meat mains. The tartar with the pickled peppers is amazing. Get a seat on the counter around the kitchen and have an amazing experience!
Moreover, the Pelican Pig proved too pricey for the overall experience. While the meat cuts were noteworthy, the letdowns in service, missing appetizers, and lingering smoke smell made it feel like an overpriced venture. A reminder that value should align with the dining experience, regardless of the hype.
Had dinner with my wife on NYE here. Delicious food, great atmosphere and the service was awesome. We ordered the corn ribs and the heritage pork, and both dishes were amazing. Will certainly come back for other dishes.
The food in this restaurant is impeccable. Rarely Do you find a restaurant that has excellent wine, appetizer, entree and dessert that are all of the highest quality. Sure, it has a limited menu but that's probably one of the reasons It's so good.
One of our favorite Nashville restaurants. Always bring friends along to experience the great, creative cuisine and excellent service. This visit was no exception! We tried some different dishes - both of the excellent steaks cooked to perfection on their wood fire.
Parking is limited. Dark, moody restaurant. Medium sized and open fire cooking so you will smell smokey. Small menu but the food is the star. The corn ribs are sooooo good. So flavorful. That's what stuck about the food...it was well cooked and flavorful. Focaccia, pork chop, rib eye and NY strip were all happily enjoyed. The potatoes were a little sour for me but cooked excellently. I would recommend and go back.
