I used to really like this place till I bought some Chinese food today. I ordered a plate of general Tso’s chicken with a house fried rice with extra broccoli and a pork egg roll. The meat was extremely tough and many of the pieces were just fat. They forgot my broccoli and my pork egg roll. Everything just in all tasted weird. If I were you guys I would save money and go some place else because this place sucks
So I was still in search of a decent chinese food place in this area and so far this spot is making the cut. I gave their general tso's chicken a try and it wasn’t bad. It was crispy and saucey not dry and stale like other places. You could see the spices on the chunks of chicken. The pork fried rice wasn’t bad but could’ve been fried a bit longer to really bring the flavor out. The portions are pretty satisfying. The delivery was a bit late because they wrote down the address incorrectly and they forgot the damn hot sauce.. but I’ll let that slide. The food made up for those blunders.
The heart and soul of any restaurant, and Peking House definitely shines in this department. The menu is extensive, offering a wide array of dishes from various regions of China. On my first visit, I ordered the classics – General Tso's Chicken, Beef with Broccoli, and Vegetable Lo Mein. The General Tso's Chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a delightful balance of sweet and spicy flavors. The Beef with Broccoli was equally impressive, with perfectly cooked beef and vibrant green broccoli in a savory sauce. The Vegetable Lo Mein was a pleasant surprise, bursting with colorful vegetables and a satisfyingly chewy texture. Each dish had its own unique character and was generously portioned.
Love the shrimp w/broccoli, food came fast and I also recommend the lo mein. 10/10
Bronx is usually a very long journey for me BUT this restaurant makes the trip worth it! I ordered the fried chicken wings along with some roast pork egg rolls. The chicken wings were extra crispy and the roast pork egg rolls were a delight. One of the best places to go in the Bronx if you are looking for a top quality meal.
Our crabsticks were old and gray and weren't breaded well. The rest of our order wasn't that good and we got sick from the food. For what we paid, it definitely wasn't worth it. I'm surprised they have a good rating; we won't be reordering from here.
