Peacefood - Upper West Side

The staff working here always look so unhappy and never smile. They never include cutlery in takeout orders and the cutlery is out of customer reach. Whenever you ask them for a fork etc it is the greatest inconvenience in the world and they basically scowl at you. This has been the case for years and happened again on Sunday. I go here if I need vegan food to-go on the UWS. It's not the most groundbreaking vegan food (especially these days) but it's decent. Kind of expensive but decent portion sizes at least. I got the Mac and cheese with a side salad on this occasion. I'm surprised it took 40 minutes to turn it around for takeout. In theory both the items would already be made and it isn't like a burger or something that needs to be individually assembled. Improvements: - include cutlery in the takeout orders so I don't have to interact with the staff - have the cutlery within customer reach so I don't have to interact with the staff - get environmentally friendly cutlery since this is a vegan place - hire staff that don't look like they want to run you over because you ask for a fork

This review is for the owners of this establishment. I came here for the first time this evening and I was informed several minutes AFTER I placed the order for the raw lasagna that it was sold out. I felt that the next best thing to the raw lasagna was the sweet plantain lasagna. I posed the question to the manager TJ, if as a courtesy if he would honor the price of the original item on the subsequent item which might I add is only a $2 price difference. After much back and forth, he felt it was more prudent to forego any additional business on this visit and the potential future visits that I would provide. I had every intention on ordering an entree along with a dessert this evening. I also had sent a picture of front and back of the menu to one of my vegan friends with the anticipation of coming back on another occasion. Perhaps, I have it all wrong, but I guess it’s better to hold onto $2 and let a customer leave after only ordering a salad and not to mention all the dollars that I would have been more than happy to spend on a future visits- and trust me there would have been a lot. Maybe this is your policy and you agree with your manager but it is a very poor one. It costs so much money to get a new customer versus keeping one happy. I was very excited about the menu and the prospect of coming back whenever I’m in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, I will NOT be coming back here and my friends and the google community can weigh in on this very poor example of customer satisfaction. I’d love to hear what your thoughts are as the owners of this establishment.

This is one of my favorite vegan spots. Whether your vegetarian or a raw foodist, they have some delicious options for you! Vegetarian options: The raw vegan lasagna is delicious

Very yummy salad and soup! The main entree was nice but the experience was not negative that they deserve anything less than 5 stars. Plan to be back soon! Dietary restrictions: Vegeterian

Lots of great vegan choices. I had the burger and fries, it was delicious. The chili was very flavorful. The pumpkin quiche was a little dry. Really enjoyed the chick pea fries.
