Excellent pizza and vibes! I was able to make a reservation for re-opening day which was a super busy and fun atmosphere. It took a little while for a server to take our order but we were patient and the pizzas came out quickly. We ordered the Hellboy (fave), Ricky Ricotta with vegan sausage, and added the Grapeful Dead because we were curious about the pickled grapes (unique flavor). All very delicious pies with perfect crust and unique flavors/toppings.
I don't know what happened when this placed closed for like a month but after it reopened everything was horrible. It was freezing in there (normally super hot) and the pizza tasted like a sponge. Perhaps the oven wasnt hot enough to cook it the way it was before and that was why it was cold in there too? There was a new bill passed for pizzerias to reduce pollutants by 75% so my guess is they had to change the way they cook the pizza. Sad because this place used to be my favorite. Service also sucked compared to before they closed in Feb too. :(
It was rough not having the restaurant around while it was closed for renovations but it’s BACK and better than ever!!!!
They have a slice shop, but the restaurant was so much better. One of the best pizza spot in NYC
Still really great Neapolitan pizza with creative toppings. The Hellboy is a classic, and we also enjoyed Mo Cheeks with guanciale. It’s best to come early on weekends, as they do still fill up before 6.
Really nice location and vibe
I really wanted to like this place. The pizza was fine, the service was okay, and I paid $14 for a vodka martini that filled half the glass (really, they brought it to the table and I thought they had spilled half of it). There are too many brick oven pizza places in this city to go back.
