I love their pasties! The Chicken and Bavarian pasties are my favorite. The crust is perfectly flaky. NEW REVIEW: I went last week, December of 2022. It wasn't as good. The chicken pasty now lists mixed veggies along with onions and mushrooms. Mine didn't have a single mushroom. The mixed veggies were cut baby carrots and broccoli. It was SO bland. I drowned it with ketchup and malt vinegar to improve the flavor. The price is now over $10 per pasty.
The veggies weren't my favorite, but the crust is delicious and flaky five stars
Haven't ordered in quite a few years. Ordered 2 pasties expecting a delicious lunch and 1 for dinner. The pasties were terrible! Meat was over cooked making it very dry and hard to chew! The Pastie Shack use to be good, not any more! I will never order from them again! They need a new cook who needs to know how to cook! Maybe they warmed up left overs from a few days ago for my delivery! If I reheated a frozen pot pie, it would have been a 1000 times better than the garbage I got!
Cornish pasties originate from Cornwall in England, my homeland they are not from here in the USA. I lived in NV 8 years the gold state never saw one. These pasties are not 100 % the same, but they come in very close. I do agree with the person who says the meats abit big and chewy. Meat is a bit dry as well. I have searched out British foods as I miss them. I would recommend this pasties shack, been there many times now and about to go again in a few days. It only sells pasties with a couple of sides. I give it 93% nearing the real pastie. Love it. Wish they did more British foods.
Went in for the pasties, not the atmosphere. The lady behind the counter was very helpful and kind. The pasties were just great.
Okay, the place was relatively clean. We chose to dine in but ordered it in to go containers, and I feel that's where things went of the rails. To paraphrase Joe Pesche(they do something horrible to you) in the drive thru. I ordered two chicken pasties with 2 Snapple cold teas (well, she got that part right). Instead, I got two Cornish pasties wich were extremely dry as if it had been sitting in the warmer way to long. I had taken a look around at other people's orders and they were eating their meals happily, their food looking quite edible. Now, normally, I would have created a stink with the staff, but I had just been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at U.C. Davis medical center less than an hour before and was still in shock. I feel like once the staff member heard we wanted "to go" boxes, she couldn't wait to unload some substandard product on us. As I said, I was still in shock from my prior diagnosis. So, my recommendation is to order in, and then ask for to go containers. in my opinion, one star at best, and that's simply because she didn't screw up our beverage order. .
