Also located within the Irish Channel is Parasol’s. Since its inception in 1952, Parasol's Bar and Restaurant has stood as a cherished jewel in the rich fabric of New Orleans. Louis Passauer, the visionary behind the establishment, christened it Parasol's, creating a welcoming sanctuary renowned for its iconic roast beef po'boys – a culinary symbol of the city's essence. Steeped in history as a hub for political and social gatherings, the bar extends a heartfelt invitation to visitors, urging them to immerse themselves in its enduring atmosphere and affable staff,. Parasol's exudes a distinctive charm at the heart of the Irish Channel on Constance and Third Street, beckoning both locals and tourists to savor the genuine spirit of New Orleans. And as St. Patrick's Day approaches, seize the opportunity to join the jubilant festivities of the annual Block Party, where music, green beer, and the infectious energy of Irish celebrations come together in a jubilant spectacle. The service here is friendly and quick. I order a shot of Redbreast 12 Year old Irish Whiskey paired with a pint of Guinness and in no time at all my request was fulfilled. While I was here I had to try Parasol's world fameouse Roast Beef po-boy. The Bread was buttered and toasty, Roast beef… amazing. Rod Stewart once said that every picture tells a story and If the amount of napkins tells the story of a roast beef po boy we will let this picture speak for itself.
Great place to grab a beer with friends and hang for a while.
Try the Firecracker Po Boy or fried pickles
I have always loved this Irish Channel bar and in particular their roast beef Po'Boys. They roast their French bread and cook their own roast beef. It's simply delicious. I have been going to this location for over 50 years and have to say it's as good as always.
Good atmosphere, solid liquor selection, decent prices, good sandwiches and friendly bartender. Highly recommend it.
Great food poboys fries...bartender is a sweet heart. Takes a long-time to get great food. So don't be in a hurry. Meet some neighborhood locals. Say hello to Frank in his wheeled device. Kid-friendliness: Dogs are welcome when you eat outside. Wheelchair accessibility: Sidewalk programing works!
Fantastic poboy, crisp and hot fries. Very nice atmosphere as well
Delicious bloody mary, though the smoked sausage poboy was a bit disappointing. the bread to meat ratio was off. My friend’s smothered roast beef + hot ham poboy was so good tho! The bartenders were being so sweet, I’ll be back.
