Always the best especially morning coffe so good to have
If you are a subscriber to "Sip" membership, unlike other Panera places, you can't just take a cup from the counter even though the Kiosk says so. We have to wait for somebody and ask him/her to give it to you. That's totally understandable as they want to save the cups. But, there are things they are asking, if I actually order it already and my first and last name. Today is one of those days the Panera's electric system is not so fast. The counter didn't see my order in the screen, so the lady at the counter is hesitant to give the cup. Keep asking the questions. I showed my mobile app. And she asked again, if the order really went thru or not. I put my app to her face to show her. Even then, she seems so afraid to give me a cup as if I took a million dollar cup. There is a chance the store is actually losing money from "SIP membership" customers. Here is my suggestion. If so, please make a sign outside, ""SIP" Members Not Allowed", instead of treating a customer as a thief. ---------------- I ordered 4 beverage + family breakfast. A white lady accused me of taking beverage cups for free. Even after I told her I have already paid and showed the receipt in my phone, instead of saying "sorry", she again accused me of taking more than I paid. I had to take my phone very close to her to show all my orders. Still, without saying "sorry", she just shrugged her shoulder and walked away. Her attitude successfully ruined our weekend family breakfast. Somebody needs to train her how to approach customers when her feeling gets "suspicious".
I have noticed that whenever I use a coupon to order pick two to go, they skip on giving the croutons. Not sure if this is deliberate because I use a coupon because this has happened more than once with me. Poor service.
My primary concern with Panera Bread lately is the apparent change in their cup policy. As someone with COPD, I often order food and need a large cup of hot water for my Yogi tea, which aids my respiratory issues. Previously, I could easily grab a cup and fill it with hot water myself. Now, I have to request a cup, and I'm given a small one as if I were a child. I valued the independence of being able to serve myself hot water in a regular-sized cup, rather than having to request it from a cashier and receive a smaller cup. While I can ask for a larger cup, the convenience of not needing to ask in the first place was what I appreciated. It seems trivial because ya know it's just a cup. But sometimes we need that comfort. If Panera bread had tea that aided in my respiratory issues I'd drink it. But you guys don't have it so I bring my own. Please give me access to cups without having to ask a cashier for one.
Dietary restrictions: When ordering on self-serve kiosk or at counter, one can enter food allergies (or dislikes) and guest will be prompted to customize their selections. For example, being vegan, we select eggs, milk, cheese, meats, shellfish, etc., which is great in case we were to have forgotten to unselect specific foods from our order.
