Palmsugar Thai To-Go

Got take out from Palmsugar, just two dishes since it was the first time trying it - got chicken pad thai and vegan spicy basil fried rice. Both dishes were amazing, the basil fried rice was honestly 10/10 - had spice, excellent flavor, well cooked. The Pad Thai was also very good. Definitely would recommend and will likely try more of their food. Vegetarian options: They seem to be able to make most options vegetarian/vegan - the basil fried rice has the option for tofu, no fish sauce, no egg and at the bottom, an additional option to make it vegan - perhaps to ensure it would be. Flavor was still phenomenal, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Today I am giving a thumbs down to this Thai place. I have been a fan of their soup for a long time and I was always satisfied with their food and the portion of it. But today I ordered the Tom yum soup with carb Rangoon and I have to say I am very disappointed with the portion. They not only raised the price of the soup but also reduced the portion of the soup. This bowl of soup cost me $18! They need to keep in mind that they do not have dine in so they don’t need to serve food to the customers. They could have keep the same portion of the soup and push up the price and that I totally get it. I could have gone to somewhere else and eat at the restaurant and pay less than this! Never going back.

I have tried twice to order from this place. The food is good. It only a pick-up and delivery joint so no sit-down to confuse the service providers. The issue I have had is that they do not simply replace items on your order once you have ordered rhem and then they cancel the order later, after you have set your family up for food. Simply replace the order with something like or close. Or remove the items early so I can’t order it in the first place. Also they have a green vegetable dish that you are required to purchase other vegetables for for the extra cost of $2. Before they go to a larger set-up. They should probably address these issues. I won’t likely order. From them in the future. I was trying to support a local company “on the grind”, but decent service is necessary to establish a supportive clientele.

Poor food quality. Other restaurants servers bigger portions with in these prices. This kitchen was our go to restaurant but now they increased their prices and made the portions very small. Will not be going there again. The Thai Tom yum soup was not authentic and we only got 3 shrimps in the whole soup where they charges $4 extra fillers for it. Definitely not worth your money.
