Phenomenal yakitori, karaage, and gyoza.
I lived in Japan for years and this reminds me of many of the Izakaya. However they are super casual which I like but too casual a little, many people were in there and they seemed rushed but helpful. It was the end of the night so it was last call for the kitchen. The menu was a little expensive but some things were so good some were bad.
Been here three times, one of my favourite spots in the city. I’ve never spent less than $75pp, but the rich, smoky and unique flavours are worth it.
I think this place is ok but a bit overrated. Work recommend trying it out but its not going to blow your mind. Enjoyed the chicken, skewer things. Nothing really blew my mind but its not bad! 2022 edit - I actually have been going back and really like it these days. Love the meat and the mushrooms.
Excellent cuisine if you want to try other than sushi in a japanese restaurant. The calamari, the ribs, the liver, and the eel were my favorites.
