We ordered in from the restaurant at 416 Broadway. Victor took care of us and did an unbelievable job. A previous order led to a little discontentment. He quickly remedied the situation he’s a stand up guy. We had the Spinach-Artchoke with chicken and the Eggplant-Basil. We’re NYers—we take pizza seriously. Thankfully, Otto’s does too. Did I forget the Chicken-Caramelized Pear….DELICIOUS!!!!
Warning! Do NOT eat here at the South Boston location if you have any food allergies! They do not take them seriously. Guy who took my order said “yes” to all of my questions about safety protocols, then likely didn’t follow any of them for my daughter’s severe gluten allergy. She got violently sick in the middle of eating her 2nd slice and vomited in their bathroom, that’s how immediate and ill she was. Luckily she does not have an anaphylactic reaction. We’ve eaten at other Otto locations and never had a problem, this location just can’t be bothered to care. Dietary restrictions: They do not take dietary restrictions seriously at the South Boston Otto. My daughter had an allergic reaction, violently ill within 5 mins of eating their “gluten free” pizza. Be careful if you eat here!
The people who work here are very nice. The food is very bad. I have finally learned my lesson. The pizza is never the same. Under cooked, or over cooked is what you will get. I order because of proximity and ease of the app. But it’s never good. I thought I’d give the garlic breadsticks one more try. It was a terrible mistake. There was no garlic. Just dough and cheese. I have no one to blame but myself. I’ve been burned before at this place. But never again.
Awesome food, and really nice employees, too. Thanks again.
I don’t know what happened in the last year but the pizza at Otto in Southie has gone down hill. I’ve ordered from here multiple times in the last few months and each time the quality of food gets worse and worse. The pizza is a soggy, greasy disaster. All flop no crisp. Feels like they took it out of the oven 20 minutes early. Normally I wouldn’t be this harsh but it’s no longer a one off - this is what it is and it reminds me of the type of pizza I would devour drunk in college for 99 cents a slice. Not worth the price not worth your time. Other Otto locations have it right but for some reason the one in southie is trash.
Gave a cold slice saying they couldn’t heat it up, after I paid. Ridiculous
I have ordered from Otto for quite some time - the pizzas are amazing! But this review is for the best service I have ever received - I am writing my first ever review. I made an online delivery order and my tiramisus weren’t delivered with my pizzas (2nd time this happened). However, this mistake was quickly explained and rectified by the very professional and friendly General Manager (Matthew Lynch) who answered the phone when I called the restaurant to complain about my missing tiramisus. To be honest, I was quite upset (I was hangry!) that they forgot the tiramisus again - I even decided I would never order from Otto again. But my anger quickly dissipated with his accountable & apologetic attitude. He even took the time to explain how the mistake happened - the system doesn’t account for desserts so instead of showing 4 items for the order size, it only showed 2 items. Again, he quickly corrected the issue by providing a refund and having the tiramisus delivered. The call ended with me in a whole different attitude - I felt heard and appreciated. I regret giving Matthew a bad attitude in the beginning but was sure to express my appreciation for him and his actions during our call. When the tiramisus were delivered, I was blown away how he went above and beyond with providing extra desserts (yummm), a handwritten letter, and a gift card. Matthew has kept me as a customer - a loyal customer. I will definitely continue to order from Otto South Boston. Amazing experience! I hope all the best for Matthew and hope he will be recognized. - A Happy Loyal Customer
