Loved my experience at Oti, New York’s most inventive Romanian restaurant. The food (mostly small plates), wines and vibe were all absolutely on point. I came with a group of seven, and we ordered the entire menu. Everything on the menu was great but particular standouts were the broken burrata, the roasted pickled peppers, the polenta and the cheese pastry. We even shared a shot of authentic Romanian prune wine with the owner/chef at the end of the meal. Will definitely be coming back!

Loved everything about my dinner there! Great atmosphere, amazing food, excellent service. One of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time.

Food was subpar for the cost. Not traditional enough to be culturally significant. Not good enough to warrant its lack of authenticity. The atmosphere however was horrendous. Seated on a wooden plank box in the corner in a cramped and uninviting environment. They try to make it up with gimmicks like “house made ceramic plates,” but its style over substance and not good style at that.

Maybe the first “new Romanian” restaurant. Not where a Romanian might go to have a meal like “back home”, but an inspired menu with a few subtle and not so subtle hints to Romanian food. Broken burrata was delicious. The “mici” and “mămăligă” could benefit from being a bit more like the original.

Had a great time at this place with some friends! We shared 3 bottles of wine and basically ordered 2 of everything on the menu to share — every dish was unique and delicious. Can’t wait to come back again!

We had the best time! The food, ambience, the service, was all a 10/10! Highly recommend! Our favourite was the Zakuska

We paired the daily special—plump mussels cooked in a tomato-beer broth—with a bowl of mămăligă (Romanian polenta) shot through with Parmesan cheese. The combo didn’t really make any sense, but it also sort of rich and salty, one chewy, one creamy, in a mutually constructive weirdness. A plate of three lamb-and-beef meatballs topped with mustard, whose sharpness was softened with a swirl of miso, nicely complemented a dish of pickled grapes, pike-sharp with apple-cider vinegar and cinnamon, clever and bizarre.

Impeccable service! Food is on point along with the wine selection.
