Osteria Mattone

UPDATE: The owner reached out and is making changes so I am changing my food review from a 2-star to a 3-star as I am happy with the very professional response and believe that they will make changes. Hoping to make it back to experience the changes myself and will update accordingly. Would also like to add that my omni friends enjoyed their meals. The service and live music were fantastic. I convinced my omni friends to go here because the last time I came (2-3 years ago) it was amazing. I asked for the vegan pasta (spago pomodoro) and gave the chef free reign to add as many vegetables as (s)he wanted. I was brought a plate of spaghetti with marinara and a small side of brussel sprouts (maybe 4 total sprouts cut in half) and a few finely chopped mushrooms. I was charged $19 for the spaghetti with sauce and an additional $8 for the vegetables. I could have created the same dish at home better and with way more veges for less than $5. Non-vegan friends also split non-vegan appetizers and they divided the check evenly including me knowing I was vegan so I paid for animals. So disappointed. Dietary restrictions: Very limited vegan options and if you add vegetables to the plain pasta they add very few brussel sprouts and finely chopped mushrooms and charge an additional $8. It would be so easy to do better and I hope they do.

Great experience, would highly recommend

Five years ago, we met some new friends for dinner at Osteria Mattone and had a fabulous meal that began a fabulous friendship. From atmosphere to drinks to food, it was top notch. Fast forward five years, and we found ourselves back where it all started to celebrate. We had delicious drinks by the fire on the patio… arguably the best patio in the Roswell. We ate and drank like kings, and the experience was just as solid as it was five years ago. You won’t be disappointed celebrating the big and small moments in life at OM! Can’t recommend this place enough. **highly recommend their homemade burrata appetizer and salmon entree. Sadly, no pictures… too busy living in the moment

I feel like it's tough to find good/delicious Italian restaurants these days, but luckily, I know of a few. One of my favorites is in my old stomping grounds of Roswell at @osteriamattone This isn't your everyday Italian joint as their menu, flavors, and yes, their price, separate them from other locations. I would call this an upscale Italian restaurant with many delicious favorites like their meatballs or ravioli, so this is a special occasion stop for me, and boy, does it deliver every time. As you could expect, their staff is nothing but 1st class, making you feel nice and special Roswell parking and I have never gotten along... I'm bitter that Alpharetta grew up and did all that they did to solve for parking while Roswell just did nothing in the past 15 years to remedy the situation BUT if you can find parking behind Osteria, great. I haven't stopped by during the NICE weather season, but the outside patio area always looks so nice. 5 stars all across in my humble opinion #rolieats #myfavoritefood #italianfood #roswell #osteria

Amazing to have dinner in the wine cellar!

It has been a little bit of time since I have been to Osteria, but man did it not disappoint one bit!!! We were lucky enough to catch them on a night where they had live music (the artist was great btw), and everything from the atmosphere, service, and hospitality was nothing short of fantastic! They were so helpful when it came to substituting different pastas with sauces and sides and answering any questions we had about the menu without hesitation. Looking forward to going back and taking family and friends there more often!

Such a cute place. Food was delicious. The Arancini appetizer was the best I have had from any restaurant. The only downside was that it was pretty loud but maybe could be fixed by sitting outside or going at a less busy hour. Parking: Super easy! Valet is complimentary.

Excellent Brunch, job well done team!

The service was great! Our waiter was extremely attentive and we enjoyed talking with him. The drinks were tasty and the patio was heated with a fire pit going. The food though, was just ok. It was a Monday and a slow night, so maybe they had the second string in the kitchen. The cacio e pepe had great flavor, but was a bit too al dente, almost crunchy. The short rib over polenta was just bland/under-seasoned. Neither of these were addressed to our server because they weren't extremely bad, but I'd had higher hopes for a place so well regarded.
