Absolutely incredible Italian food. Probably the best bang for your buck Italian food on the upper west side. Ambiance is great too. Service was fantastic. Will be going again.

The food is good, the service is terrible. A table fell over on my daughter. It was set up on an uneven sidewalk outside. Plates went flying, she was crying and the wait staff just walked by as if nothing happened. Not a single employee bothered to ask if she was ok. Luckily she was more scared than hurt. Be aware that online reservations do not allow you to choose between indoor and outdoor seating. They will seat you where ever is convenient for them. Out door seating does have heating. However the area on the street has no door so it can be very drafty and cold

It’s a nice place, the pizza is good, the gnocchi has too much flour. I miss the days of bread with olive oil, and when they asked if I wanted cheese on my gnocchi and pepper. Other that that, it is a pleasant place.

Tonight I wanted to have dinner in one of the good Italian spots in upper west side soon to go downhill, Osteria Cotta. I’m here sitting at table with 3 other people. So far horrible experience. I walked in with my party of 3, hostess was very nice. She gave us a table upstairs in that cozy charming room. I thought this is great, until…. a guy approaches the table and started pouring water into our glasses without asking what kind of water we want. I had to stop him and ask for a bottle of sparkling and a bottle of flat water. He’s like yes I bring bottle of sparkling and here is flat water I’m like no man that’s top water from the sink, I want Agua that cost dinero. I thought he’s busboy, I’m like ok things happen. Then same guy approaches our table with a clover device I believe in his hand asking us if are ready to order. That’s when I lost my patience. I wanted to order a chicken dish for my parents and I had to go back and forth with this guy how does the wood fire chicken come, whole half roasted boiled raw you name it, how long does it takes for the dish to be ready and so on and so forth. The guy had issues with communicating in English. Look Im immigrant myself like 8 million New Yorkers but for Gods sake when you go out to dine you should expect to communicate and understand clearly each other not to have hard time to order a damn chicken dish. Imagine if I had any or or few allergies and the guy didn’t understand my allergies then I was gonna end up in hospital most likely. I have nothing against migrants I love them all as they are hard working people but to be blamed here is the management especially the owner who don’t oversee what’s going on in his place. You should never put on floor as server to interact with costumers someone who isn’t able to understand and communicate in English. I spoke with the manager here tonight and my first question was, you are new here aren’t you, when did you start and he looked at me like “ how do you know kind of “ he replied I been here as manager few month already. Inside exactly I been coming here since 2014. I explained him what’s going on and also told him look at the table there is a bottle of sparking water and there are 4 glasses of water filled with tap water. How we suppose to drink this sparking water? He’s like oh yeah I’m sorry let me get you glasses. My goodness can you imagine! Then I had to get up and get two extra cleaning sharing plates, cuz no one was around to clean our plates. The “waiter” came to the table twice when he took the order and brought the check. I wanted to order some more truffle fries but I’m like screw it I’m not going to chase these people around. Service sucks sucks sucks, get this from someone who eats out and someone who values experience and quality. If you come across this post take your time and think before going to this place. Unless you don’t care or have some $$ to waste. At the end I asked for the bill, and everything was in there, they had no courtesy to do the right thing. If the owner comes across this review, man your management and service sucks. For me tonight was last night walking through that door. Never again.

Amazing experience here! Gnocchi was very good (sauce a little salty) but overall the arancini and warm ricotta were amazing. The service was very fast and the atmosphere was amazing! Highly recommend

This place is definitely the talk of the town. Just before we walked in the doors we had a local telling us that it was a great Italian place and we wouldn't be disappointed. He couldn't be closer to the truth! We enjoyed great service from the staff, a good ambiance, and delicious food. The food came out of the kitchen in what seemed like five minutes and it was good. Wouldn't recommend linguine bongole if you are sensitive to spice because of the pepper flakes, but it was still a great dish. The pizza and the penne vodka were out of this world flavor, and for a reasonable price too. If you are looking for an Italian place that has won the hearts of the locals, this is the place for you. Vegetarian options: If there is a dish with meat, you can ask them to take it out.

Food 5/10 Went here for brunch and the food was alright. Got an omelette and the toast came out cold. Atmosphere 8/10 Nice interior and plenty of space, two floors. Service 4/10 Took forever for the food to come up, it was an hour until we got to eat. Disappointing. They gave us a free chocolate cake though as an apology. Felt bad for the waiter he was the only person staffed :(
