Original Pancake House

Google Maps shows as open. Restaurant is never open when we come to eat.

This place is the equivalent of Waffle House. Very old and outdated. The service felt very rushed. The water was definitely on tap. Overpriced as well. I’d never go back, IHOP would’ve been well worth it over this.

Permanently closed.

Arrived at the Buckhead location this morning after checking google (shows open and 15 minute wait). Pulled into seeing the usual parking sign right up front. Pulled in...parked...walked up. CLOSED (tiny signs you had to walk directly in front of to read) telling people to visit their other location. Why would I do that if you don't have the courtesy to pull the easy to move parking sign which would have made me look over and notice taped small sign before parking? You cant even update google to say closed? Wish I could give zero stars.

Waited over an hour for overcooked food.

AWFUL - THE WORST PANCAKE HOUSE AND SHOULD LOSE THIER ORIGINAL PANCAKE HOUSE DESIGNATION. SERVICE IS AWFUL AND THE SERVER - SHAY- RESPONSE TO REQUEST FOR SILVERWARE, COFFEE (ONLY REFILL) WAS "SHE ONLY HAS TWO HANDS". AT ONE POINT FOOD IS SERVED BUT NOT SILVERWARE AND SHE ONLY RETURNS WITH BACON SIDE DISHES RATHER THAN SILVERWARE. THAN THEY ADD 18% SERVICE CHARGE AND WHEN ASKED SHAY INDICATES IT GOES TO HOUSE NOT HER THAT TO MY KNOWLEDGE WHEN ASKING SOMEONE ELSE IS NOT CORRECT. WORST RESTURANT EXPERIENCE IN MY 83 YEARS. WE WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS LOCATION EVER AGAIN.

What happened to this once great local spot?? Just 6 months ago I proudly took out of town guests here and everything was nice. But this morning? After waiting an hour for two omelets, the wrong orders were delivered, our grits were cold, the wrong toast was delivered (white instead of whole wheat), and the waitress’s reaction? “You don’t want this? What should I do?” When nicely asking why things were so slow, she said there was a sudden rush of customers. But when looking around, only about 25% of the tables were filled with a few outside. There were almost as many staff members as customers. We ended up leaving because of my concern of cleanliness. If the staff cannot handle simple food orders such as omelettes and pancakes, how well are they cleaning the kitchen area? I will not return as my concern is food poisoning. Also, there was no sign of a manager being present.

So much to say! We actually left before getting our food. I’ve never done that before! The server announced that they ran out of coffee before 10am on a Sunday! What restaurant does that! So we ordered other drinks but those weren’t right either! The Iced Tea was weak, cloudy, and way too sweet! And the orange juice was served with ice and watered down. The server didn’t know the difference between an egg “over medium” or “over easy “. Then while we were waiting for our food I notice some tables getting coffee. So, I asked our server what’s up. He said he didn’t know and he went off to see. After 15-20 minutes of waiting for him to come back I left money for our drinks and left to find breakfast elsewhere. So disappointing!

Unfortunately, the new managers they have tried here over the last year or so simply can't make the place work.
