For some reason you never see this place on anyones top 10 list. I’ve had them all, delesandros, johns roast pork, delco steaks, etc. you name it, I’ve probably tried it. Oregon steaks is the best sandwich spot in the whole city. And I say sandwich spot, not steak spot because as immaculate as their steaks are, their roast pork and Italian beef are somehow even better. It’s hard to top perfection! The meat is fresh, the rolls are crisp, and they’re always open. Since I fell in love with this place a while back, I’ve refused to get a cheesesteak anywhere besides here or my own kitchen. Shieeet every time I’m here I have to get at least 2 sandwiches. This place is the definition of Philly cuisine. Go birds!
'Not sure what I did wrong but I got attitude from the person at the counter. I ordered a pizza steak, maybe I didn't know that I was supposed to include the specific cheese I wanted with my order because "what kind of cheese?" was close to the only interaction beyond me stating my pizza steak order when they opened the window and them stating the price and me handing them a card and them handing me the receipt to sign, add a tip and hand the receipt back. I did switch pens when the one they gave me didn't work so maybe that was it? Maybe they were just having a bad day but tossing my sandwich out the window with a very pronounced dismissive hand flick seemed a bit over the top for such a short transaction on a non-busy late afternoon (I was one of two people; the other customer was ordering at the window marked "Sides" so I was alone at the "Sandwiches" window. It was my first time there so it's possible that I didn't follow some established ordering norm that, being a first time customer, I don't yet know? The pizza steak was delicious but I doubt I'll ever bother them with my business again.
Classic South Philly eats for a reasonable price (you know if you've had it or will when you do ) The crew is always prepared and speedy, but most importantly polite, even when most wouldn't be. The only reason I gave it 3 stars for atmosphere is because I usually only get to go around 4am anymore, otherwise it's as close to perfect as a Philly steak place can be
Enjoyed my food services was friendly will definitely visit again
