Tried again. Ok sushi but not our favorite.
So bad. ate $150 and feel upset. Waste my appetite and time :( poor Boston people, should go to New York City for any Japanese food. The beef is well done and dry. Crab meat is premade-product and they use it everywhere with the sweet mayo sause, okra and chicken wings are over cooked. And the server took away my chopsticks by accident. The only good thing is their sashimi is thick cut and the toro is on point.
Friendly staff and great food for the price. I love coming here with friends
We were deciding what to eat for our anniversary dinner. One kid wants sushi, another wanted ramen or chicken katsu, wife wanted sashimi and I wanted Yakitori. We landed on Omori Izakaya. Parking was easy right on the same street and plenty of spots available at dinner time on a Saturday. We got there earlier than our reservation. We were seated immediately with maybe few more tables open. We order some Yakitori and appetizers to start. The pork belly, chicken gizzards and chicken hearts were extremely flavorful. The chicken skin was crunchy perfection. The octopus was grilled to perfection with a little of mixed spices on top. Hotate Kaiyaki came out on a little warmer with a little flame and very cool presentation. Tako Yaki was good as well. For main courses we order chicken katsu dinner and dragon roll and caterpillar and sashimi combo. The kids love the chicken katsu. They also loved the maki rolls. Sashimi also fresh. Overall we had a great time. The food were very good. The stars were the Yakitori skewers. Parking: Plenty of meter parking on the same street as the restaurant.
The quality of the sushi is very good but not the best. The common cuts of fish are very fresh but sometimes have inconsistent old and smelly cuts that are not as good. Prime example is sometimes the uni (sea urchin) is too old and not presentable, but sometimes is perfectly fresh. The atmosphere is nice and the interior is cozy. The biggest complaint is the Menes are not cleaned and smell of literal urine.
The comfycozy salty/savory stop of your dreams. Absolutely loved how they made the simple into so much more— the shumai was so fresh, not just the random assortment of blended up shrimp you usually get at restaurants. The soft shell crab is so incredibly concentrated, we were thinking they must use some kind of crab seasoning to get...more crab per crab? I'd suggest those two and maybe a drink and the unagi don, since the ramen I ordered was quite plain, and the beef was pretty tough (but great marinade!) The agedashi tofu is out of this world, definitely the best I've ever had, beating the ones I've tasted in Tokyo. Love how much marinade they place in the bowl with the tofu. Really made it special. Would love to hear less American music over the speakers and have full view of the bar (that would make it a full 5 star experience in my opinion! Alongside their entrees needing some work) But definitely a great place for apps.
Amazing little place right in the heart of Brookline Village. Small side dishes, very fresh and delicious sashimi and their soups are very filling. Thank you !!! Vegetarian options: Amazing little side dishes… I love their sushi appetizer and I think vegetarians will live this place too.
