Omar's Kitchen and Rum Bar

I love Caribbean food and can’t believe I never heard of this place til this past weekend. The food was amazing! Service was great! Vibes were vibing!! My new favorite low key spot. I had the curry oxtails and sucked the bone! Yeah, I said it! I sucked the bone. And I’ll be back!

I was underwhelmed by the food and service. I ordered the plantain codfish fritters and they came out cold ☹️ thankfully the server was kind to take it off the bill but it is so wasteful to throw food away. I then ordered the wings with the rum glaze and that also was cold and could have been crispy. Truly disappointed. The music was popping at least!

Came here last night around 8ish. The place was very nice and the vibe was great. That being said I expected the service to be top tier! It was not. My waiter had her back turned towards our table more than 75% of our night. I was celebrating my anniversary with my girlfriend, I got served moldy old lettuce which they attempted to cover up by drowing in salad dressing. When I brought this up to my waiter she gave me a sad look as she could do nothing about it. She apologized and that was the end of that story. I like the place and the vibe but only because of the slow and sad service I’ll find somewhere else in manhattan. Sucks because I really wanted to make this place my go to. But with less than 10 people in the place, I can’t believe that was my service Lol for the portions and moldy lettuce, deff not worth 118$.

This place is worth it, food, drinks! Amazing! Nice caribbean vibes

Came in for a takeout order the 18th after 9pm and the sweetest lady helped me . She had a ponytail and all black on , didn’t catch her name but her service was top notch ! The food also came quickly and tasted amazing ! Will absolutely be back and very glad this is in my neighborhood
