One of my favorite coffee spots in San Diego! Incredible pastries as well!

Best drinks in town! Perfectly balanced. Everything is hand made by the owner. Baked goods are incredible and all made by the owner. The preparation is meticulous and measured so you pay a little more and wait a little longer but definitely worth it! I recommend the hazelnut latte with macadamia milk and the scones... Omg

Oliver is my go-to coffee spot in Hillcrest. This isn't a run-of-the-mill "wall of syrup pumps and a plate of saran wrapped Costco muffins" coffee shop (you know the type). Oliver's coffee menu is refreshing in both it's simplicity and creativity. They use high quality beans and milks/alt milks for their espresso drinks. There's nitro cold brew on tap, and even their drip coffee is good (not too bitter, always hot). The seasonal flavored syrups are delicate and not sickly sweet, just nice compliments to already great espresso drinks. And I'm not even to the best part yet... The pastries. The! Pastries!! These have got to be some of the best coffee shop pastries in San Diego. They deserve an entire store front of their own. The bagels are absolutely perfect; great flavor (plain, everything, jalapeno cheddar), and excellent texture (good bite, soft inside). The cookies, the scones, the croissants, all stellar. The owner makes the pastries herself, and her skill and love are evident in every bite. It is a small spot, with bright sunlight and a few tables on the sidewalk. Expect a (quickly moving) line on the weekends. Parking is easy, there are both metered and free spots surrounding it. It is absolutely worth the stop if you're in Hillcrest.

Great choice overall if you're looking for a solid latte. Their standard latte and cold brew are very good while their pastries are truly excellent. Random surprise: they make a phenomenal Jalapeno Cheese bagel, probably the best I've ever had. I live in the neighborhood and often stop by just for the bagel even if I don't want a drink because it is inexplicably delicious.

Mai’s coffee shop is the best!! Such a kind and welcoming atmosphere, too. Don’t skip out on the homemade almond coconut cake, she makes it herself and it’s phenomenal.

Perfect spot for a quick cup of coffee and a snack.
