It was Good. Could've been better tho
The food was much better this time then the last time we were there.
Came to Wooster for a fall weekend since it was our anniversary this month. Heard a lot about the Jaol Steakhouse but will never spend that kind of money on just food. We opted for the Tavern and had good food and an exceptional waitress (Crystal). Who went out of her way to please, was friendly, energetic, and was easily the best wait person we have encountered in years. Need more Crystals in this world today!
PSA: The carpet is coming up in the center of the walkway through the steakhouse...needs attention before someone trips.
Absolutely amazing setting for a fine dining experience! However, our entire meal took 3 hours, and the ribeye’s weren’t cooked to order. I ordered medium to medium well. Part of it was about right, but half or more was well done. All in all, it was a great time. That was because we were with great people. They only had two waitresses. The place has so much potential, but the people running it aren’t proactive in all areas. Don’t go if you’re in a hurry (we weren’t).
Not what it used to be! We’ve been customers of this restaurant for over 25 years. Since the new chef began the ribeye steaks are the equivalent of an overdone strip steak or sirloin. The blue cheese dressing once homemade is now out of a bottle most likely Kraft dressing. So many options no longer available. Lobster bisque is composed of fake lobster meat! The carpeting is buckled in places from a leak in the ceiling. The place really needs some tlc inside and out and a chef that understands “fine dining steak house.” Service is great and they do their best despite being short staffed.
Love the outdoor dining
Ate at the Tavern side. Menu is boring. Burgers were disgusting. Tasted like cafeteria food. Broccoli was rubbery. Mushrooms had raw breading around them. Drink was made incorrectly. Probably will never go back. Used to have excellent food. So disappointed ☹️, what happened???
Went for the first time a week ago. The atmosphere and service were very good. We each ordered the perch sandwich, and you could barely find the perch. We paid for a bun with toppings. I would give it another chance, though.
Parking: No problem finding parking for lunch on a Saturday.
