My girlfriend and I have been coming to this restaurant for over a year. I was a bit nervous about the management changes that recent reviews were mentioning since we really liked the food and quality of service that we had come to expect from the previous management but I can say that the restaurant remains great :) The prices are a bit lower, the food is different in taste but still very good, the service is good, and contrary to other reviews I actually found the portions to be slightly larger than previously. If you were a fan of the previous food and management I would suggest to give the new food and management a shot :)

First time here, this place is literally a mom & pop operation. The food and service were fantastic. The gentleman informed us that they just came back after 10 years away, and that it was their second day back. They're doing such a great job. The food is fantastic, the standouts were the panang curry, chicken wing appetizer, and smoky cashew chili sauce. The prices are incredibly reasonable. We will be back!

This was my go to thai restaurant for years! Literally loved it so much, was always worth the drive to East Oakland. But I guess the original owners came back and it's not the same quality or service. The portions are smaller as well. The older gentleman was very friendly and apologetic about the service but won't be returning unfortunately. Does anyone know where the people who were running it for the past ten years went? I heard somewhere in Alameda.

Town classic! Real Thai food at its finest. Country home style cooking!! Barbarian soup, coconut milk soup, curry shrimp pancake… all fire.

In Sept 2023, we went to try Weang as its close to my friend's house. We were greeted by family who informed us Weang would be moving to Alameda but another family would be taking over this location and serving thai. We shall see on both accounts. Expect a 3 month wait to try either.
