while walking around with family, we headed into Old Tbilisi Garden for a late lunch in Greenwich Village. not super familiar with Georgian cuisine, but the hearty food hit the spot on a chilly afternoon. a charming interior with a warm vibe: small bar in the front with an enclosed garden in the back with a fairly large dining area in-between. the menu is built to order a variety of dishes and share. memorable tastydishes—Georgian Tasting Board (a variety of vegetable rolls made of beets, eggplant, spinach, and more, served with bread), Khinkali (Georgian dumplings), and Spinach Khachapuri (spinach, scallion, & cheese in baked dough). the food was flavorful and savory—it has me curious about exploring more food from this part of the world. the service was pleasant and attentive. if you’re looking for foods off-the-beaten path in NYC, then Old Tbilisi Garden has a menu for you.

Jahrhundert mitten in New York???

Keep in mind they are B on sanitary inspection, it’s just hidden behind a giant menu. Used to like this place a lot but the service has declined. The server left the water bottle in the table and left- ok. Then the wine bottle was the same story, without pouring it. Felt odd. Felt Like a buffet service self service. A smile wouldn’t hurt. Also 20% already charged in the bill. The lamb stew was liquid and had 4 tiny pieces of lamb.

(Edit) I’m becoming suspicious that the owners are spamming good reviews every time they get a bad one. Please read the entire list of reviews. Apparently, they don’t like people different from them here, and they’ve got the sheer audacity to overcharge for it. Their cheeseballs taste like they were found in the frozen food section and their stewed chicken is tough (how the hell?). Zero appreciation for their customers, especially when the servers have the audacity to laugh at you, you’ll feel right at home sweet (abusive) home.

Georgian food (and wine!) is the best the world - and Old Tbilsi's is certainly one of the good ones. Highly recommend. Come ready with cash...

I am a big admirer of a Georgian food and always would made a point to visit this place when in the city. Unfortunately, my growing disappointment with the food at this place, especially in comparison with another Georgian establishment in the city, brought me to a conclusion that this is a last time I will cone here to eat. At first, I was informed at the door that they only take cash or American Express and there is an ATM downstairs. Not cool!!! Then I ordered my favorite soup Charcho which is a hearty dish full of meat and rice among other ingredients , to my surprise I received a thin broth spiced with a few tomato pieces, few chunks of rubber tasted meat and literary a few grains of rice. All for a hearty price of $18. The soup was so thin that it was easy to drink it than eat with a spoon. I am really sorry to say goodbye to this once beloved restaurant. Guys, for this prices, paying conditions and the taste - you will find better Georgian food in town.

Only accepts cash / American Express, food is a little overpriced.
