Good food and service. It gets a little crowded during lunchtime and hard to find a parking space. It's worth the trip for lunch, though .

What a great little diner! Our server was the epitome of Southern hospitality, so friendly and efficient. The food was fast, hot, and fresh. My omelet was too hot to eat, but looked to good wait. I loved the saw mill gravy too. My wife got a breakfast sampler which filled the table. Eggs, bacon, sausage patty, grits, and a huge pancake, which I got to enjoy since she can't have gluten. It is definitely a favorite of local residents since it seemed that half the people there knew each other and the employees. If you are visiting the Ruby Falls area, this little gem is only a few minutes away and absolutely worth the short drive.

This is my third time eating at Old South. The grilled chicken salad and the Philly Cheese Steak are both excellent, and the service was great! If you are looking for a pleasant and relaxed lunch, you’ll love it here!
