Some of the best hot chicken around if not the best. Not only is their chicken amazing, but their kabobs are just as good. The atmosphere is amazing and the people inside couldnt get any nicer

This place IS Nashville hot chicken! We are from out of town and looking for something small, local, and indicative of Nashville chicken. We tried mild and extra spicy, the fried corn on the cob. All worth our drive to Nashville. Our minds were just blown. The kids loved it. We loved it. And the staff treated us like family.

I've always went to Hattie B's and wanted to try something different. This place was 10 minutes from my location. Called in my order and I felt like family from the first interaction! The lady that waited on me was so friendly. You need to give this place a shot.

Haven’t been to every one of all the hot chicken places around Nash but Grandaddy’s is currently my favorite. As far as I can tell there’s about a trillion restaurants that claim to be the original and I have no idea who’s correct. It might even be truly known anymore. But hoo boy does this place reallly just feel like it is the first. Atmosphere/service: Cute little storefront-style cafe. Nothing fancy; just a few tables and chairs in a modest dining room. It’s clean, well-maintained, local news on the tv. It’s exactly what it’s supposed to be. From the first visit, they treated me like I was one of their best friends showing up to a cookout. Kitchen, counter, and owner all make me feel welcome and like they’re genuinely happy to hook up me up with some good chow. Now sidebar: working food service can really suck, I’ve done it. I don’t expect food workers to fake happiness for my benefit, and they get to be annoyed at their job just as much as I do alone in my office. That said, it’s a REALLY nice feeling to not only feel like I’m not a burden, but that I’m actually welcomed to place an order. I hope they don’t have to act but if they do they deserve Oscars. Food: Alright what you really care about, I’ll try to be quick. Chicken tenders extra hot is my thing. Skin is mega crispy and all but shatters it’s awesome. Very flavorful and a much more nuanced use of spices and herbs in the breading and spicy melange compared to most other hot chickens. Chicken itself is easily the most flavorful, the moistest, the highest quality meat and it’s well-breaded, and well-fried. I forgot that chicken actually had a distinct flavor until these tendies. Heat levels is your choice of 5, plain to xhot. Xhot maxes out similar to around just a ‘hot’ at the bigger name places, so spice lovers don’t be shy, but it’s still nothing to trifle with, especially for those who don’t do heat. Sides- pretty much all 3 or 4 bucks for generous portions, like at least a half pint, maybe more. Coleslaw is hard sweet on the sugar-vinegar coleslaw scale. I’m normally a strict vinny-slaw man but this commits to sweet so hard I love it. Has apples in it. Fried corn-awesome, good vegetarian version of nash hot chicken actually, and it’s tasty corn on the cob too. Note the breading does use an egg-wash for adhesion so still not vegan. Greens-poppin, tender and funky. Fries-better than most, skinny style beer battered. Had a slice of cake from there once too, pretty good. You found it-this is the secret gem local eatery that slaps harder than will smith. Anyway thus ends my open love letter to this restaurant, 5/5 no notes.

I strongly recommend eating at this restaurant. If you want Nashville, hot chicken, fried chicken, with awesome side dishes, this is absolutely the place to go. I will go back repeatedly, the owners are very interesting. Nice people. Food is just delicious and perfectly on point. We had side dishes, such as fried okra, colored greens, Coleslaw, and baked beans, all of which were phenomenally delicious. Can’t say enough good things about this place.
