Old Hickory Bar-B-Que

It’s a small place so the tables are a little close together, but the food is absolutely amazing. Great service and we got our food fast! This is definitely on our list to go back! The blackberry cobbler is the best I’ve ever had!

The packaging and delivery of the food was not well done, and the entire combination plate got drenched in liquid. Regardless of the poor packaging, I was not impressed with the food. The turkey was dry and the beef and pork ribs lacked flavor. When the best part of your meal is the sides, that is no good.

Mutton was excellent with the Burgoo!

My wife and I came here on a road trip to the Great Smoky Mountains from Iowa. It was our first time in Kentucky and we absolutely loved this place - and Owensboro in general. We had a few different meats, specifically the mutton and brisket. Both were incredible. Sweet, tangy, and just the right amount of distinct and familiar. Genuinely an awesome stop if you are in the area.

This place was great overall. We had a large party from work and they handled it well. The food didn't take too long, and our server did a very good job of taking care of us. They had mutton on the menu, which I had never seen before. It was different, but not bad. I don't know that I would order it again, but I don't regret trying it.

This is the best bar-b-que in Owensboro. The others do not compare to Old Hickory. People think moonlight is the best, but they are so wrong. If they would just try Old Hickory they would never go back. Highly recommend if you are a true lover of Bar-b-que or burgo, chicken, etc. You won't regret it I guarantee it .
