Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom

Used to be our favorite place to grab a beer and some food and it has just gone down hill significantly. Not once or twice, but the past 3 times we have eaten here, the server tells us the kitchen and bar are closing early. Like at 9 pm… there is a happy hour menu that starts at 9. We were pressed to order food and drinks and then basically expected to wolf down the food and leave. I sure hope things change with leadership as many OC locations have closed recently. I’d hate to see this location be a casualty of a complacent team. The food as always was great, but the service and experience were definitely lacking.

We got the veggie pizza, added chicken on thin crust. The crust was delicious, but the pizza was dry. They threw crumbled very dried bits of chicken on top of the pizza. The veggies were good and fresh except for the artichoke leaves, again dry. I just think it needed more sauce or something. It also needed the Parmesan garlic mix to bump up the flavor.

Elizabeth was a great server. She was very sweet and helpful with the menu, thank you Elizabeth!

Super nice and courteous server. Yet, dish was soiled, order not served correctly. Pizzas are okay but pricey. Happy hour tap beer okay.

Old Chicago the best Buffalo wings I never eaten combined with my favorite beer "bluemoon". 100% recommended Friendly service all the time!

Ordered delivery with DoorDash to my hotel room. Wrong pizza was delivered but listed correct on the receipt. NOT THE FAULT OF DOOR DASH. But they sent a plain cheese pizza that was terrible. Do not recommend for delivery.

This review comes after the last 4 visits. I ordered food with 2 friends. They received their food together but my food didn't come out. I thought maybe mine will be out shortly... the waiter came and checked on us 20 minutes later and asked how everything was... I was like "um I never got my food and my friends are basically done eating" no apology or anything, he asked if I wanted it to go... Also that was the only time he checked on us. We wanted to grab another beer but not only was the waiter not around we literally did not see him at all. The next 3 visits were all for online orders. I live 2 blocks from here so we order food for pickup. Generally it gives us a time frame of when the order will be ready. The first time it gave us a time of 6pm, we arrived at 6pm and the order was not ready until 630... The next two times same thing but worse, the food was suppose to be ready at 530pm and I showed up at 545pm and ended up waiting until 615pm... No sorry or anything. I really enjoy old Chicago but the service has really gone down hill. Im generally forgiving in certain circumstances but when there is no explanation or even a sorry I have to draw a line ESPECIALLY when its not even on multiple occasions but consecutive experiences.

Got to the restaurant and waited a long time for someone to ask me what I needed, guy went back to get my takeout order, came out with two orders,tried to give me someone else’s order, I could tell cause I didn’t order that much food. Get home and no marinara sauce. The food was good, but the service was terrible.
