We've loved Old Chicago for over 20 years. I've completed 4 World Tours and 25% of the t-shirts I own are from completed mini tours. The service was terrible on 10/12/23 from 5:35-6:30pm, we were there almost an hour before we left without even getting a glass of water, let alone any of the food we ordered. It wasn't busy, and I saw that the few other customers were having trouble with the staff too. As I waited for the 2 waters and one beer we asked for twice, I saw a group of about 8 employees in a circle just talking and looking at their phones. I've seen Old Chicago go downhill for several years now...I'd say that you should train your staff but don't bother, this place won't make it another 1-2 years. Don't bother with the generic corporate response either, we will never go back to our former favorite restaurant again. This experience made us sad, it was like watching an old family friend die. Starting in Colorado Springs, then Cedar Falls, then Coralville, this used to be "our place." All of those locations are closed now. I've never given a negative restaurant review in my life, and I'm giving this one at 6:30am the next morning. So if you're thinking about eating here, consider that.

The owners of this place should be very ashamed of themselves, they left a brand new bartender on a Friday night all by himself until we told the manager which was also the cook. I was in the service industry for 25 years and never seen anything like this in my life time, people waiting for lengthy times and just walk right out. Almost every employee was on his or her cell phone, we asked for a couple of shots and those were poured in chaser glasses 8 Oz in size and full to the top. I can go on and on. Don't waste your time.

The restaurant was decently clean. Underneath our table was some food and napkins. It was pretty dead when we got here. Staff was extremely friendly. I wanted pizza and my server said he definitely does t recommend the pizza. I should have listened.... nope. My husband got the appetizer trio and basically only ate the mozzarella sticks. The pepperoni rolls where gross, and the weird nachos just didn't come together. The server said the only thing he likes here is the sandwiches. But I won't be comming back.
