We regularly choose Oku for our special occasion dining, but tonight Justin made our experience more memorable than ever! We practically ordered everything he recommended - the Hot and Heavy Roll and the Kouyou Roll were to die for!!! Their take on a traditional Old Fashioned was incredible. Haven’t had a bad experience at Oku, but Justin made tonight that much more special! We’ll be back!
This is like my 4 or 5th time coming to here. My food is always good. My drinks are always good! It can be upscale for date night or a comfy cozy place to just talk and eat. One of my favorite places.
They changed the menu recently. My only words of advice are DO NOT get the pork belly. I sent it back!! Even now writing this review the thought of it makes me nauseous. It was sliced too thick, and overcooked which made it hard to chew and eat. Otherwise great experience!
Try the Sonic Tonic and the upside down cake!! You won’t regret it!
We went to O-Ku to celebrate our daughter's birthday. In a word, it was a fantastic experience. We had a reservation and were promptly greeted and seated. Our server came to our table moments later to take drink orders and to answer any questions we might have. Our drinks arrive promptly, and our server asked if we wanted any appetizers. We ordered two appetizer specials - steamed dumplings and another one which I have forgotten. Both were excellent. My wife ordered the chicken teriyaki (she doesn't like sushi), and the other 3 of us ordered rolls (Red Dragon, Potato, Rainbow), and I also ordered 2 pieces of O-Ku Nigiri (snapper and salmon). Everything was extremely fresh, had excellent flavor, and the presentation was wonderful. They were even willing to take the cucumber out of the Rainbow Roll since I really dislike cucumber. Other sushi restaurants I've been to have declined to make any changes to their rolls, which limits my choices since many rolls contain cucumber. Overall, we had a phenomenal meal, terrific service, and a very good time. We will definitely be back.
This place is hands down one of the best sushi spots. On the pricer side but worth it for the quality. All the servers and staff know the menu and what's great! Ryan is by far my favorite server, ask him how to spice up your rolls :)
