I recently visited Okonomi and was incredibly disappointed with my experience. While the restaurant itself has a nice ambience, the food quality and service fell short of expectations. Unfortunately, I discovered a hair in my meal. Disgusted, I immediately brought it to the attention of the staff. Here's where things went downhill. Instead of offering any kind of compensation or taking responsibility for the issue, I received a simple apology. It felt dismissive and inconsiderate. To make matters worse, the staff took the plate to supposedly show the chef, but nothing further came of it. There was no attempt to rectify the situation, no offer of a replacement dish, and no discount on the bill. Finding hair in my food was enough to completely ruin my appetite, yet I was still charged the full price for the meal I couldn't continue eating. This entire interaction left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer. Basic hygiene standards are paramount, and finding hair in food is a serious breach of those standards. The complete lack of effort to rectify the situation or show any responsibility was even more upsetting. I expect more from restaurants, especially ones like Okonomi. Proper staff training and procedures for handling such situations are essential. If you're considering dining at Okonomi, I would urge caution. While the atmosphere may be appealing, my experience suggests that hygiene and customer service may be lacking.
