Oishinbo is a must try! Their red bean and cream buns are tasty! Don’t forget a red bean and green tea ice cream cone! Soo good! Cash only! We went on a Thursday and there was only one worker operating the booth. They were very friendly. Due to the low volume, buns are produced as needed. There was a 20 minute wait. It was worth the wait! Check it out!
So delicious! The lady behind the counter was so kind to me. I ordered just one taiyaki, but she snuck another dessert in the bag! I am truly grateful!
Came on 7.28.20 during covid times. Eat outside in our car was our safest place without being judged with our goodies in tow.bought 1 pastry with the white creme inside. It's cute with its zodiac symbols on both sides of the pastry. Tastes good!
Love the cream (custard) and tai-myaki (red bean) here. They make a great snack, take one enjoy it on your stroll along the water out back. They seem to be still cash only and the staff is friendly. They are only set up to make so many at a time, so you may have to wait a little bit if they are in the process of making a new batch.
I visited this restaurant today for the first time. I am Japanese, and this is the same Oobanyaki and Taiyaki that I have eaten in Japan for a long time. The Japanese female staff was wonderful! My kids wanted to eat it, but the store was already about to close the order. She sold them to me without a bad look. Very good service! Thank you(*^^*)
Good amount of red bean paste stuffed in and you get 5 for 7 bucks (buy 4 get 1 free). We actually wanted the cream filled pastry which they said would take 40 minutes to make. That was what I was hoping for, but pressed on time, we weren't going to wait. Their baked goodies are great when they are just baked and eat it while it's still hot. Keep a bit of the styro container open so it doesn't become soggy when your ready to get the next one.
I really don’t get the negative and very critical reviews. Please name a better place in a 30 mile radius to get taiyaki because I’m not aware of any, not even industry city in Brooklyn! Staff is always friendly, everything is fresh (that’s why you might have to factor in a wait time), it’s really tasty and reasonably priced. I can highly recommend the taiyaki with red bean paste - I’m always craving for them. So give it a try and judge for yourself! I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
The custard filling one is better than the red bean one. The red bean one is too sweet.
