Odyssey Italian Restaurant

This is a pretty cosy spot full of old, dusty decorations. It's the kind of place that has a charm you'll want to experience every once in a while. The food itself was fine, and I like that they weren't afraid to use some garlic. Nothing was exactly exciting, but the pasta was cooked right, and the sauce stuck to the noodles. They brought out a big, lidless bowl of parmasan and set it on our table, which was pretty gross when you consider how many tables that bowl has sat on. That bowl was there for the entirety of our meal, so you know it's got all sorts of nasty stuff in it. The prices were reasonable, and the service was prompt enough. We were in a room upstairs above the kitchen, and the only way out appeared to be through the kitchen. I wouldn't want to be up there if a fire broke out.

This place is average at best. We ate a few times here. Last time we had seafood Alfredo which had no flavor and was milk based. I'm from New York and for Colorado standards I guess it was ok

The service was amazing, the food not as expected, we went on Monday and all the pastas are on $11 is a great choice.

Great atmosphere, great food, great wine. Highly recommend the amarone della valpolicella paired with the veal brachole, lamb shank, or ribs special Vegetarian options: Capellini Pomodoro is vegan, there are gluten free options as well

When we made our reservation we indicated that we were celebrating our anniversary. We have celebrated our anniversary here before and it was wonderful. This time was a major disappointment.. The service was okay ( I do know it’s a hard job). The chicken picatta was so overwhelming with acidity and after a few bites became unpalatable. The chicken marsala sauce was so heavy with bacon it was the only thing you could taste. The vegetables were cold. We were crammed in the section so tight that you couldn’t help but overhear what was being said by those dinning next to you. The table next to us commented that one bite was ice cold the next hot. Not sure if it is all microwaved, but based on our meal it wouldn’t surprise me.

Outstanding Italian cuisine! Vast menu and great, friendly service. Monday night pasta special is hard to beat.

Dining at this establishment was one of the most confusing and strange experiences I’ve had. It felt as if I was stuck in a liminal space, once we crossed the threshold of a kitchen/dish pit and then walked around staff. When we entered we followed the host through a maze that felt like we were intruding on someone’s home, while staff stared at us in the “back”. Once we got into a bedroom that had tables poorly placed too close together, we were seated but could easily touch the other guests if not careful. Then we met our server, Charlie, up beat and energetic, but too disorganized and unclear that you weren’t really sure who he was talking to. Another table got the wrong order and each staff member that helped fix it blamed another person. After we had Charlie’s attention for longer than 5 mins, we ordered our meals and he said he’d bring us more bread. We never saw more bread even after he offered several times after. We all could not stop talking about what a strange experience we were having. It was as if we stepped into an alternate universe or an in-between space. Half the party was cold and the other was hot, and Charlie would “pop-in” to the bedroom and look at all the tables but didn’t ask if anyone needed anything. When our meals finally did arrive, the dishes looked like they had been sloshed around the plate. 4 out of 5 meals were at best lukewarm, which really diminished the flavors. One of us had the mushroom ravioli and I think that the ravioli was undercooked if not uncooked. The penne rustica was lacking in flavor, warmth, and an equal mix of pasta and protein. We couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something else going on in this building and that we were stuck or lost there. When we were done and ready to go, I wasn’t sure that we would be able to go. Our server hadn’t stopped by our table in sometime and was running in and out/talking to the other tables in the bedroom. Once we finally did get his attention, he did split our checks, but brought over 5 to-go boxes. Boxes we didn’t request and didn’t have anything to take away. At the end, we had to trek back to the front through the “dish pit, kitchen,” and with staff looking at us like we were in the employee only area. Overall, the restaurant was over hyped as an “authentic Italian” restaurant. The experience was strange, the service was lacking and minimal, the food was literally lukewarm and lacked “authenticity.” I would probably only ever visit again just to show others that this place exists and to have a crazy story to tell others.

Cute atmosphere! Yummy food! Fun jazz pop covers!:) Parking: Parallel parking which is common for Denver. It was difficult on a weekend.

Sat in the patio, which was heated and very cozy. Had some delicious bread that they make from scratch. The wine was delicious. I had the penne rústica which was super flavorful as well as their tiramisu.
