Really wanted to love this place but they made it hard to have a good time. The drinks were fine, if not a little overpriced. We went at 3:00 on a Sunday and were the only people there (8 people) save for one other couple. We asked for the music to be turned down a little because it was BLASTING Lana Del Rey and our server pretended to turn the volume down. Another member of the group asked the bartender to please turn the volume down and was told that no they couldn’t do that because it would “ruin the ambiance” and that they “have to follow rules”. I know they don’t set the rules but could the owner or manager who does please reconsider, it felt really weird. Went with a lovely group of queers to support a local queer bar but we will not be going again :(

TL;DR: club-level loudness even on an early Sunday, bartender with a power trip, overpriced everything. Not a queer-friendly vibe. The bartender behind the bar with the blonde and brown bangs is not it. I hate when a cool queer spot is ruined by bartenders with power trips. Brought a total of eleven of my queer friends who have never been here. It is a rainy Sunday afternoon. 3pm. Aside from us, there was ONLY one other couple and one person drinking alone. And the music was playing at a club level loud like it was a Saturday night or something. We asked if it could be lowered just a bit for only the one hour as we discussed a queer book we just read. (We would’ve done it outside, but again it was raining). I couldn’t even hear the person sitting two seats over unless they yelled. The one worker said they have to maintain the “vibe” at all times and refused to lower the music even a bit. They said almost verbatim “yeah like this is not a place for a book club.” The delivery was so off putting too. The person who first asked for the music to be lowered is the nicest person ever so they definitely asked kindly. Like I totally get it if there was a lot of people (or if it was prime time and good weather). But there wasn’t. The entire next 2 hours we were there, only two more people walked in that entire time. I feel like you should be able to make decisions based on different scenarios taking into account multiple factors. It’s called being human and not a robot. I bragged about this place to so many queers. My standards are pretty low for queer bars. And I like to word of mouth advertise queer bars. I def will not any more. The vibes were def not there for a queer friendly place. As a group of queer people we wanted to support a queer bar when we chose the venue. And it was an awful experience just because of the one person and this “apparent vibe rule”.

Deeply disappointed with this business. What kind of place does this aspire to be….blasting music at 3pm on a rainy Sunday afternoon to drive away a big group just looking to talk and chill? Seems very pretentious given that all we wanted to do was have drinks and hang out and hear each other talk. Message received loud and clear - we were not welcome….does that make good business sense when you only had two-three other people drop by within the two hour span that we were there? So badly wanted to support this place but attitude and experience left us all really disappointed and judged.

Lovely and unpretentious.
