O'Charley's Restaurant & Bar

After waiting 20 minutes for a seat (understandable it was the weekend). We were sat and our drink orders were taken... Promptly after she asked for our drink order she advised that they had no ice... No ice.. For drinks.. Ok.. Welll moving on... She took our food order and when I ordered my steak she then told me they were out of steak... Unbelievable. Why couldn't we have been told this before we waited for the table. I ended up not eating. My girlfriend ordered steak bites off the kids menu and was brought shrimp.. I will not be returning to this location. The Fishers location by far beats this location any day.

***UPDATE: original post below*** After this review I was contacted by the store (General manager, I believe). We discussed what happened and he said he wanted to make it right. Months later, as this restaurant is slightly out of our way, I took my family but did not say anything about the conversation as I didn't want special treatment- I wanted to be able to give an honest update to my review. My boyfriend, children, and myself were sat in the bar area at one of the tables. As shocked as I was, with the youngest being 3, I don't think it could have gotten any better with how excited they were to sit at the round table in an area they thought "forbidden" with all the names on the bricks on the wall. Let me brag on the bartender, Rob. PHENOMENAL!! He greeted the kids like adults, asked them their orders first and sat in the seat to ask my 2 youngest what they wanted instead of asking the parents- giving them an independent feeling. He then stood up and took the adult orders. The kid's food came out first (huge in my book) and he answered questions they had. Been a LONG time since having service that good at any restaurant! Place was clean, relaxing, and everything went smoothly discussing our last visit at the end of the night. We WILL be back after this visit- hopefully with Rob as our server again. So much better than the last visit we had. Thanks Rob! ********************************************* Where do I begin? When we were first seated, we were sat at a table that was dirty and had food ALL over the floor. (EW!) Our waiter noticed as he came out and asked me if we wanted a new table, which I agreed to, of course. Our waiter kept forgetting things, yet he noticed and immediately went back to get what he forgot- for example he forgot our butter for our rolls. Now, tonight was only his 3rd night! I have had worse service from people that have been in the industry longer and should know better. Now, onto our food. I ordered catfish (the WHOLE reason we chose to eat at O'Charlies!) with asparagus and mashed sweet potato. Instead of getting filets, I got nuggets, which was not what was ordered, my asparagus was burnt on bottom, and WAAAY too salty. Potatoes were passable. My husband ordered his steak rare, which he doesn't usually have issues with- bloody, warm, with a slight ring around the outside, and the middle a reddish color. He cut it open and it was as though it barely touched the pan. It was cold, no blood, and it was so rare that the middle was purple! So he sent it back no issue. These things happen. When the waiter brought it back out he requested it to be cut open to see if it was to my husband's liking. Sadly, it was still undercooked in the middle with the same purple coloring, just not as much- so it was sent back again and manager informed. At this point I was a bit frustrated and told him that with it going back yet again, they should just refire a new steak as it had been sent back twice. When the manager came over, she came back with the same steak! Finally the color of the middle was reddish pink, but definitely not rare as requested. Now- with all that said and done, I will say that our issues were 100% from the kitchen and not our service! Malcolm was our server tonight and as I said, it was his 3rd night. HE DID AN AMAZING JOB!!!! Very polite and on it! As for the manager, she did what she could to make things right. Husband did tell her that after a 2nd return he figured that she would have had the cook do a refire instead of bringing the same one out 3 times and she did say that he was right and she will make sure that from here on out to keep that in mind for future guests. All in all, our service was good, but the kitchen was severely lacking tonight. This is only the 2nd time I've been to this location. The first was alright as well, nothing to recall to sway me one way or the other aside from ok. I will give this location another try and hopefully it's better so I can give it a higher rating. If not, then I will not be back again.

Stewart Reunion family is dinners

Used to be more of a fan of O'Charley's but the past few years they have really gone downhill. Rolls don't seem to be made at the restaurant anymore the food isn't as good and this location often forgets parts of the order. Find a better local restaurant for American fare.

This was a disappointing visit. Our server was very friendly but was clearly overworked just like the other servers there. Food took a long time and was okay at best. The smash patty burger meat was plain gross and came with Wonder bread and a Kraft single. Loaded potato soup was watery. Chicken was fine but had no flavor. Salads were big so I guess that is a positive. We used to come here often and enjoyed ourselves but clearly it has gone way downhill.
