We had a very nice early dinner here, after wandering in off the main drag of Duvall St hungry (and a bit tipsy tbh ) on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated immediately and chose to sit in the somewhat narrow outside seating area, which is quite nice and has a festive Duvall st vibe while still being tucked away and private. The famous Key West cocks wander the area too which is fun, although you can tell they are used to being fed there… They walk right up to the table! We ordered a bottle of white wine, (which came out at exactly the right temp), the ceviche starter, the passion salad, and the seafood risotto. Although we did not ask for it, the food all came out plated separately which I do not like, especially when the customer hasn’t asked for it (although I didn’t check the receipt carefully enough because some restaurants charge for this “service”, I do not know if they did so that day). Anyway, the ceviche portion was small! But damn that was some delicious ceviche. Like seriously, they do a great job with that dish, just delightful. The risotto was basically a revelation ☺️, and packed with seafood, all of which was perfectly succulent. Just delicious. Altho I ordered the passion salad, I don’t think we got it, instead I think they misunderstood and plated a side salad. Whatever, it was also delicious. The meal, including an entire bottle of wine, was about $100, not bad for KW, and we really liked the service we got, including the Macedonian host who was funny and wry. The outside seating was nice and low-key. BUT, I went inside to use the restroom before we left and let’s just say I’m glad we didn’t eat inside. Funky and sort of run down atmosphere inside, not what I expected for food that good coming out of the kitchen. And considering the plating issue and the wrong salad, I’m downgrading it from “fine dining”. But hey, it’s Key West!
excellent service, worth every penny you spend there, very attentive staff, delicious shirt and on time
