We really liked our dinner at Obelix. The staff who served our table were personable and fun. We were disappointed when our entree came before we were done with our appetizers. This was not the fault of the table staff. They were just as surprised it was sent out. The ramp tart, escargot and beef Wellington were quite good. We felt the foie gras macaron was too sweet, we are partial to a more traditional preparation for both ingredients-separately. The atmosphere is awesome, lively, crowded but not too loud. We will definitely go back.

We had a phenomenally good brunch at Obélix for our first time here. The onion soup is honestly the best onion soup I’ve ever had - it’s a dish a will have anywhere it’s on the menu, and I’ve had many in Paris and other restaurants around France, but this one tops the list. The burger was also quite good - the caramelized onions nicely linking it to the onion soup, and the sauce being absolutely delicious. There was no dessert menu for brunch, but they did have several flavors of sorbet and gelato, and the two we tried were scrumptious. Definitely a place we want to return to for dinner soon!

Outstanding meal. Stopped by on a Saturday night and was able to snag a seat at the bar. Almost too many things on the menu that I wanted to order but my eyes finally fell on a Choucroute dish and my decision was made. On the menu it was listed as Waygu Pastrami, Escargot Boudin Blanc, Kielbasa, Ham Hock Galantine along with Saurkraut and Potatoes. Its been years since I've found a good Choucroute in Chicago (RIP Brasserie Jo) but this one was outstanding. Non-traditional in a good way. Pastrami and Galantine were at the top of the list but the whole dish was a rich indulgence. I'll be back for sure.
