On a recent visit to Austin, we decided to check out Oakmont Food Company, based on existing OpenTable reviews and were excited to see what they had to offer. We arrived about 5:15 and the place was nearly empty. We sat at the bar and ordered a round of drinks - I had the "Strawberry Fields" and she had the "Lavendar Martini" - both drinks were EXQUISITE. They make "Strawberry Fields" with strawberry and simple syrup and it does an excellent job of producing a refreshing Gin drink. We then ordered an appetizer - beer cheese pretzel and a salad. While the pretzel was good, it was nothing exquisite. The salad was heavy on lettuce and for some reason packed with hidden jalapeños (something to know if you dont like spicy food). We ordered the "stuffed chicken" as our main entree - and again while it was a decent portion and an ok meal, it was nothing special. Again, quite a bit spicy for our tastes but all in all a decent meal. Overall this place is "decent" and there is nothing "wrong" with it, but the photos and the online reviews make it sound like a 5 STAR executive chef is behind the grill, which I do not believe to be the case. The prices are a little high for the 'average' level of food, but the atmosphere and the service are good. All in all, I would give this place about a 7 out of 10. Not terrible, just nothing that was overly impressive.

Food was awesome. You better watch out though, if you park in the parking lot behind this building, which clearly looks like it is parking for this place, you will get booted. There’s a lady in a red Malibu that is constantly watching for people who park in this parking lot.

Terrible experience. Walked in with my wife during my lunch hour at work and had an awful time. It was busy since it was lunch time, so I do understand that but what’s not acceptable is the fact that I waited 15 minutes and wasn’t acknowledged once. The wait staff had walked up to me several times only to pass right by me and deal with other customers that were sitting. I ended up walking out but changed my mind and walked back in to again be ignored for another 10 minutes. Someone behind the bar finally told us that someone would be with me in a moment and when they finally came and sat us down it was another almost 5 minutes. When we finally sat, the waitress dropped off two menus and then came right back a few moments later with two waters and another two menus. I almost told her that we already had Menus until I realized that it was an entirely separate menu from the first one but it contained all the drinks, which I thought was a little weird , like how did you not just seat us with those. We had two or three other wait staff come up to the table with waters but stopped when they saw we already had some. The lack of communication with the staff is terrible, how do 4 people come to my table and not know someone is already helping them? After sitting and waiting about another 10-15 minutes my wife and I just left. I read some reviews on yelp on google stating that some people had to wait 50 minutes to get their food while others who were sat after in larger groups were attended to first but I thought maybe they were just over reacting. They’re not. The service is awful, there’s no communication and I promise you that you can go anywhere is Austin and have a better time for the same price or cheaper. Not worth it. I can’t believe I couldn’t give this place 0 stars

Great little place in a busy professional district. Stepped in and atmosphere felt like old austin. The cuban sandwich was the best! Service great and beer ice cold. Parking: Parking in back

This place it’s good but.. this last time I was there with my family for brunch the food did not have any salt, no flavor whatsoever! Pancakes are really delicious! I got the breakfast plate that has eggs toast and potatoes, eggs where burned and no salt, also got cold biscuits, my daughter got the French toast with chicken and again chicken had no flavor. This restaurant has a lot of potential but they need a better cook.

Honestly loved how good everything was. Really good burger everything about it flowed got the sweet potato fries and they were amazing love the match stick style. We also got the buffalo chicken sandwich. Again great fresh taste though the blue cheese was a little bit overpowering still good. My boyfriend got the house margarita and it tasted so fresh and good. Got some macaroons that where so nice and soft. Overall a really good experience. The service was good bartender was super nice as well.
