One of the best Asian cuisines I’ve ever had. Beef Rendang with Coconut rice, and a Guiness. I’ve been going there for over 20 years now. I started making the Beef dish at home now I love it so much. Hint save room Ferrara’s is next door. Sorry Nonya, but it’s a great pairing. Kid-friendliness: Excellent staff and service which is a need when you have kids.

Highly popular but food wasn’t fresh nor that special, and overall overpriced. The good thing was the prawn mee. Although the shrimp wasn’t that fresh or juicy, soup base was tasty. Other signatures fell lackluster. The dip for the roti canai was too salty, roti was very light and crispy but nothing to write home about. Hainanese chicken was okay, could be bigger portioned. I also tried the squid in a house special sauce… tasted they just threw the sauce on top of some old squid and heat it up in the microwave, wasn’t even mixed properly. Shouldn’t have been almost $20. Drinks were bang average, too. Disappointed.

Nyonya, a beloved Malaysian restaurant, has graced Grand St. for over 25 years. Their delectable menu, now conveniently presented in pictures, invites diners to explore a world of flavors. Roti Canai Pancakes: The kids’ delight! Imagine the anticipation as those volcano-sized roti pancakes arrive at the table. Their crispy edges and soft centers make every bite a joyous eruption of flavor. Sarang Burong Fried Taro Nest: My spouse’s deliberate stop for this dish speaks volumes. Picture a nest of golden-fried taro, delicate and inviting. The crispy exterior gives way to a creamy interior—a harmonious blend of textures and tastes. Mee Siam: It’s the simple pleasures that resonate. A plate of mee siam—thin rice noodles bathed in a tangy, spicy gravy—never fails to satisfy. Each forkful carries the essence of tradition and comfort. Our full bellies left no room for dessert this time. But fear not! The promise of sweet indulgence awaits on your next visit. Perhaps a scoop of ice cream or a traditional Malaysian treat will be the perfect finale. Nyonya’s enduring legacy, captured in both taste and imagery, continues to delight generations of diners. Oh, it’s cash only
