NuVegan Cafe

Omg! It was my first time eating vegan food. I loved the flavor of everything. I like that I could try it before I bought it.

First time at this location and was pleased with the results.

I usually have a great experience but the last time I went I got food poisoning.

Good food overall. The drumsticks were crunchy and flavorful. The noodles were delicious and the"crab cake" sandwich had a creamy texture and fresh flavor. The big disappointment was the cake which reeked of fake strawberry flavor.

I would consider myself a regular customer of Nu Vegan Cafe restaurants. Whenever I'm visiting an area where the restaurant is located, I opt to dine there than other vegan establishments. My most frequented location is Richmond, VA because it's close to my home. The food and service at the RVA location is what led me to support other locations, including this location in Baltimore, MD over this past weekend. However, my experience was not the same. I'm a habit of creature and tend to order the same entrees. This time I decided to order something different, Country Fried Steak, as a result of the solicited opinion given by the employee serving me. Of course he said it was a good choice, "it's my favorite", and added that it was made with wheat protein versus soy protein (yay). So I ordered it and my goodness I regretted it. The meal (the CFS, cabbage, and Mac) overall was meh and extremely dry. Nevertheless, the cabbage and Mac were eaten because the steak was unbearable. It was extremely dry, hard, thick, heavy and flavorless. I shared with others to make sure I wasn't tripping. Nope, the feedback was the same. I was very disappointed, especially when it was recommended. I went back to the establishment to inquire about the gravy for/with the CFS, I was told that there was none. I asked about using any of the sauces available and was told that only BBQ was available. I had to do something because it wasn't tasting good at all. This still didn't add flavor or cure the thick hardness of the CFS. I found the same thick, hardness, and heaviness with the strawberry crunch cheesecake he recommended as well. #LeSigh My B'More Nu Vegan Café experience is a NO MORE experience. Very sad about this. PS- I did like the decor for the seating area in the front. It gave a relaxed café vibe.

The first time I ordered the crabcake sandwich and tuna mac as my side. Crabcake sandwich was delicious, but the tuna mac was sweet like candy and I had to trash it. Second and final try with this place. Had no burger buns and I had to get crabcake in a wrap with a little crabcake, but it had pound of onions on it, that was really nasty it had a cardboard taste w/onions to it.. yuk. Also they didnt have any mac and cheese so I opt Asian noodles bad mistake again like the tuna mac, it was sweet not flavorful. I thought sweet like candy had trash that. A lot of the menu items were not available very disappointing for lunch smh... I understand they other locations....Why does the Baltimore location always have to the worst, now I understand why its always empty. Vegetarian options: needs more work on menu.

As a vegan of almost 7 years this is my all time favorite spot. It also helps that every time I come here, everyone working is insanely wonderful and so dang sweet. I look forward to my Baltimore visits so I can eat here every time.
