Just grabbed some food items for the first time here and have to say I’m pretty impressed. I have celiacs disease and I can’t trust any place that’s not dedicated gluten free, but also finding a place that has good tasting gf foods is challenging. The hand pies are delicious, the tiramisu is great, and looking forwards to the white cake tonight.
Good news: The food is great! I had the brownie, it's more cake-like than traditional gooey stuff, but I didn't taste or see any salted caramel, it was a Sunday--maybe they ran out. Everyone thought the food ranged from B+ to A+. The so-so news: All 3 of us ordered espresso drinks. We were told straight up it was a latte or nothing. My husband asked about a double shot straight and the barista said, fine. It was a pretty slow Sunday, we must have waited 10 to 15 minutes for 2 double shot lattes which were meh. Also, it looks like they just opened, which isn't true at all. They had 3 chairs & 3 little tables inside, when they clearly could have had double that inside, and there were 2 tables outside with a few more seats. I'm sure the excuse is well--COVID, but they could do better. But double thumbs up for take away! Dietary restrictions: This is a great find if you know someone with celiac disease. It's so great just to them finally relax and enjoy themselves because there's no gluten! Parking: If you know the area, 15th near the hospital, parking's tight, but we have a disabled parking pass, and there's a spot a block or so away for vehicles with disabled permit holders. Not fantastic, but it's Capitol Hill.
Amazing hand pies! Delicious baguettes, donuts were pretty good but a little on the sweet side. Highly recommend it!! The staff member was very friendly, talkative and informative. He recommended an amazing cafe for us, as they only serve drip, coffee and espresso. Lots of great recommendations to go to. Will definitely return if I'm ever back in Seattle! Thanks for making my visit AWESOME!!!
The best cinnamon roll gluten free I have ever ate!!!! Love this place!
A bakery with almost no options for baked goods
I really wanted to like this place, but it didn’t meet my expectation. Bought two donuts and paid $9.90 (they were pretty small too), but they were basically generic, overly sweet cake baked in a donut mold. For the price I paid, it wasn’t worth it. They were too sugary I couldn’t even finish them.
I've been wanting to go to this place for a really long time and I'm extremely disappointed. Not only was the inside sort of empty and looked half constructed the food was a massive disappointment. I ordered probably the wrong item, some sort of handheld Pizza pie thing. I'm not someone to ever go back inside and complain but when I left and bit into it and realized it was completely empty it was definitely a little annoying and I went back inside to check to see what was supposed to be in it and when I showed it to the guy behind the counter he said yeah it's supposed to have sauce and cheese inside of it but it was basically an empty pocket of unflavored crust with remnants of some sort of sauce. He mentioned that it typically bakes off, obviously I was extremely disappointed but there was nothing offered in terms of a replacement or refund and I ended up just throwing it away because it was just a piece of flavorless pie crust. I think it costs like maybe $6? So yeah I don't think this place is all it's hot up to be and that kind of sucks for people who are gluten free ♀️
