Noods Ramen Bar

Totally blown away! The ramen was very innovative and delicious. We had the black garlic tonkatsu ramen, spicy Thai curry ramen (spice level 4, very nice), and garlic chili oil gyoza. No extra toppings or substitutions, you eat it the way the chef intended. Service was super friendly! Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of their creations.

Drove past over the years and finally went in for a bowl of ramen & gyoza which did not disappoint. First off, very friendly staff. Secondly, they had separate full & vegan menus. No restrictions here so I went all in on the pork with the tonkatsu ramen and a serving of green onion gyoza. It was ono & broke da mouth. So good I’m going to cruise by and sample a vegan version. これはラーメンではない。RAMENだ。 「ラーメン」を食べたい人は、違う店に行って欲しい。絶対に。レビューの良さに間違った判断をしてしまう典型的なパターンです。 ラーメンの祖国である日本から来た日本人である私は青春時代を豚骨ラーメンの本場である久留米、博多で過ごしました。人生で最低でも800杯は豚骨ラーメンを食べてきた私は、この日この店で食べた”Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen”を豚骨ラーメンと名乗らせる事に凄まじい抵抗感を禁じ得ない。 ビーガンのお店なので当然だが、スープは間違いなく豚骨を煮込んで作っていない。 顆粒のガラスープなどで「豚骨風」の味を出しているだけだと思う。味は薄く、当然ながら深みは一切ないスープは、袋ラーメンの「うまかっちゃん」の方が50倍は美味い。 麺はコシが一切なく、麺に絡むこともなくスープにただ浮かんでいる。 これは別の食べ物だと自分に言い聞かせながら箸をすすめた。 連れが頼んだ醤油ラーメンも不味かった... 醤油感がまるで無いスープに、あのコシのない、スープと絡まない麺。美味いはずがない。 ただ、お客はひっきりなしに店を訪れている。 私たちが着席するまでに１時間待たなければならなかった。テーブルは空いているのだが、Take outのオーダーも頻繁に入っているようで、キッチンが回っていないのであろう。 私たちと共に外で待っていたカップルもイライラした様子でテーブルが空いているのになぜ入れない？とクレームを入れていた。目の前にいる客よりも効率の良いTake outのオーダーを優先しているのだろう。 オペレーションがかなり良くなかったし、1時間待って入店した際も、お待たせしましたの一言もなく(ハワイではあまり無いですが)、テーブル番号を告げて、指先でテーブルを指先で示すのみ。店員に一切の余裕がなく、接客は二の次三の次。 味、接客ともにあまりにダメで、Google Mapの評判が4点を超えている事で興味を持ってしまった自分を恥じた。いや、しかし何事も経験だと自分に言い聞かせながらお店を後にした。 結論として、本当の豚骨ラーメン(Tonkotsu RAMENではなく)を食べたことがある人は、ここに来ると私と同じくかなり高い確率で落胆する結果となります。いや、豚骨に限らず。 ホノルルには美味しいラーメン屋増えている。 他の店でぜひ美味しいラーメンを味わっていただきたい。

Noods! I just love the name! Also love the flavorful ramen and the few appetizers we got too. Started off with the shishito peppers sprinkled with a parmesan cheese. Of course I got stuck with all the spicy peppers but didn’t mind since the tangy parmesean gave them a nice flavor, spicy or not. Hiyayako Tofu (vegan) was a hit with my daughter and her friend. Crunchy garlic chips and a chili oil sauce poured on made us reorder another one. Highly recommend ordering the Ginger Scallion Gyoza. I ended up ordering the Creamy Garlic Shoyu ramen. The soup was delicious and it tasted like it had a coconut milk taste to it?, but I could be wrong. Firm noods gave a pleasant mouthfeel and the the thick piece of chasiu was tender, just wish there was just one more slice. Wife ordered the truffle shoyu ramen (vegan) which came with menma, corn and shiitake mushroom sliced. That too was delicious and rich. Perfect for a cold Hawaiian night (69 degrees).

Amazing food, very authentic

Always saw this ramen place everytime drove by it and finally got to try. Broth was really good, you can put as much spice as you want too! Definitely gotta try it! Amazing service!

One of the best vegan ramen my wife and I have ever had and we have been to Japan.

I do a lot of spicy challenges and heard this was the spicieat ramen in Hawaii so had to give it a try!!! I had the Carolina Reaper/Ghost pepper ramen and my daughter had the Kimchi Ramen and both were fantastic. The pork Belly appetizer we could of eaten 4 of it was absolutely delicious and ramens were very flavorful and reminded me of Japan. I have to go back to try the birria ramen!!!!
