Nomé Izakaya (Don Mills)

Nomé is one of my favourite restaurants. The food is fantastic. There’s so many options and everything is served hot and fresh. The service is extremely quick and the servers are all great. The only downside is the size of the restaurant. You’re sitting extremely close to tables so it’s definitely not a restaurant for an intimate dinner or date. It’s very loud as well. It’s perfect for a night out with friends though. I would highly recommend Nomé for anyone interested in Japanese Fusion cuisine

Fresh food, good quality however I have to say taste has changed quite a bit since they first opened. Not as well made as it used to be, I was quite disappointed yesterday with the rolls. Don’t think it’s worth the money. Used to be one of my fave sushi places, but standards have fallen lately.

Amanda and Cindy were amazing, they provided over and beyond service and we intend on coming back just for them! Thanks again Nome!!

First off, service was amazing. Angela was our main server and she was very friendly, prompt and attentive. However, the food was alright. Ordered 12 oysters and had at least 3 that tasted off. The Japa burgers we got (been ordering it for years as it’s our favourite at Nome) didn’t taste the same this time, not too impressed. So overall, after months of not going to Nome and looking forward to last night’s snacks/drinks before our movie, we were very disappointed with the food experience.

I love Wednesdays when you get good quality oysters for a bargain. Remember, this is still a high-end restaurant with top Japanese food with a great variety of innovative dishes.

Came here with my girls on a weekday dinner. Menu was available thru QR code accessible on your phone. Food was amazing, our favorite were the bulgogi tacos. All of our food were fresh, packed with flavor, filling and were presented well. Portions were great. $1 oysters on tuesdays and wednesdays or 6 for $10. Sangria hit the spot, had a good balance of ingredients Food came fast and servers were friendly and attentive. They checked on us multiple times. Service was amazing. A tad bit pricey but worth it due to the quality of the food being served. The vibe and ambiance were great. The place looked clean. Has unisex bathrooms, although that needs some more attention by staff. The place is small so make sure to reserve a table in advance! In the summer they do have a patio. Parking: Lots of free parking by metro with just a short walk if you dont mind walking. If you plan to park very close, there are very limited parking spots.

Giving this 5 stars for the many many times I’ve been here and been an amazing experience… only had one experience that wasn’t the best, but this is still my second favourite restaurant in Toronto, nonetheless. Overall: 4.5/5 Food: 5/5 Japa sliders 5/5: My favourite sliders in the GTA. I love the sauce on the burgers and they are usually amazing. Most people that have been here have also really liked this place. I came here after about a year on Feb 23rd late night and I asked for no tomatoes, but they ended up not putting any sauce either. I told the waiter and he just brought some sauce on the side, but it wasn’t the same really. However, like I said, every other time it’s amazing and doesn’t change my review :) Tiger shrimp: 5/5 also a favourite and a hit; never a miss and so tasty with the lemon squeezed and I believe honey on it. Salmon Aburi Donburi: (not pictured): 4.5/5 I love this as well, it’s so tasty and a unique dish that I haven’t really had anywhere else… Ambiance: 5/5 - very nice vibe; large ceilings, and just feels like a casual classy atmosphere. Only wish they had more seating! Service: 4/5 - I kinda hoped that I’d get a fresh slider back but instead got a side sauce, so that’s the only reason for a point off. However, everyone was super nice and friendly and still had great service overall. Parking: Parking is a little far because you need to park near the metro. It’s not bad, it’s just there’s limited spots in front of the venue, so usually have to walk a few minutes.
