Nobu Newport Beach

Nothing about Nobu was second class. Every bite was and experience to be savored. The server was super helpful in making choices and making sure we enjoyed our visit.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience ☺️ We had the seabass, and it did not disappoint! The sushi was great, too!

So so disappointed! Planned a trip to Newport with dinner here being one of our highlites. Reservation was for 9pm, we were seated promptly and hostess was amazing! We planned on omakase but we were not informed that you can’t order it past 9pm, that should be included in the reservation confirmation and the multiple texts they sent through OT. The whole experience felt super rushed, if you’re talking and not eating the staff circles the table asking to grab your plates. Whole experience was under an hour and not enjoyable.

Amazing. The food was great. The people were welcoming. The view and setting was phenomenal. A must. I will be coming back soon.

Always an amazing experience. Crab tempura, Wyagu Gyoza, Bao bun sliders, slice filet... everything is always sooo yummy.

I took my mom here for dinner last night, and while the food was lovely, I am still in sticker shock. I unfortunately did not ask the price or mention a budget when I let the waiter take care of the decisions, but I definitely didn't fathom our bill could have come to $630 before tax between two. I still tipped 18 percent out of guilt. I was thinking the omakase for $200pp sounded fair, and assumed our dinner would cost less having the waiter decide since that was what we were considering. We had the cheapest sake, but the mistake was agreeing to the Wagyu. At a $212 price tag, it was overly fatty and not worth it. I've had Wagyu many times and it's never been like that, I personally prefer a little more "meat" to fat ratio. I even saw another table leave over half of their Wagyu order... Anyway, not to discredit the rest of the dishes and the service, but I really wish there was more communication about pricing. Not all of us are fabulously wealthy. I hope this review can help improve their future service and prevent others from making the same mistake!

The service, atmosphere, and cocktails were outstanding. The food was a solid “good.” We had the tasting menu. I expected something special by choosing that option, something I hadn’t ever had, something that would take me out of my comfort zone, but instead it was very standard. The food was all good, just unimaginative.
