A+ fantastic

Kelly was so kind to us!! He gave our table a free poke dish, which my boyfriend really enjoyed! This was our first time at Niji and we were very impressed! The interior looked modern and perfect for a date. They have a bar area in the center and a wall of bottled drinks as well. Other than the atmosphere and service, their food was also delicious! Not just the Japanese dishes, but also the Chinese dishes! My boyfriend and I will definitely be coming back for future dates!

this restaurant is NOT accessible for disabled persons. They are not in compliance with state ADA requirements & regulations. This has been reported. Absolutely disgraceful that this happened, and even worse, that a city inspector let it go. Unacceptable. We won't be returning, doesn't matter how good your food is.

Amazing food and service! Chef Kelly is the best!

One of my favorite Madison restaurants! The location has great ambiance for either a casual lunch or dinner date. Sushi is consistently good and the lunch specials are excellent

Eating here gave me diarrhea. There was an insect leg floating in my water. Sushi was a big sloppy log of mush. Terrible acoustic Nirvana covers playing in the background. Cumin beef was pretty good though lol.

Tried to have lunch here yesterday. Everything started out great. We had the miso soup and some pot stickers to start. They came out promptly and were great. An hour and 15 minutes after we arrived we did not received our food. One entree finally arrived but the other did not. Our waiter was vers apologetic and said there was only one chef today. He brought complimentary soup and salad for the person I was with while they waited for their entree. Another 30 minutes passed and still no second entree. Around this time another person eating there went to the sushi bar to ask why they didn't receive one of their entrees and they pointed them to the front desk. Then, another couple walked out telling the front desk they were leaving because they never got their food. Another waitress stopped by asking if we needed anything I asked for a box for my food and we asked about the entree we never received. She said there was only one chef and too many "to go" orders. We had them remove the entree we never received from our bill, paid, and left. The person I was with wound up eating something at home.

Best Sushi around. Service was great. A guy named Steven was fabulous. He kept drinks filled and double checked every plate before serving. Takumi sushi but at bigger venue. Love this place!

Food is great, but always check your to-go orders. They have forgotten SO MANY ITEMS. It’s very frustrating to sit down to a meal with no sauce for the food, no sauce for the salad, etc.
