Great food, and good service.
We were not acknowledged until after 20+ minutes of being there. We were planning to dine in but since the server took so long to get to us we decided to do takeout, so instead of the server taking our order she made us follow her to the register to take our order and even then as we were about to place our order she totally disregarded us to tend to a dine in customer, by this time I refused to give this establishment my money and I left.
We took the special friend rice. It was really good enough for 2 person even if you are hungry.
My visit to New Big Wong Chinese Restaurant in Chinatown was deeply disappointing, both in terms of service and food quality. It’s disheartening to share such a negative experience, but I feel it’s important for potential patrons to be aware. The service was not only rushed but also distinctly unprofessional. Arriving at 9 p.m., my party and I were already being pushed out by 9:30. This hurried atmosphere is not what you’d expect when dining out, especially early in the evening. The behavior of one of the waitresses was particularly egregious. Not only was her loud conversation with a colleague right next to our table distracting, but her attitude towards the tipping process was astonishingly rude. After we left a 10% tip — which, considering the poor service, felt more than fair — she confronted us. She was not just vocal but yelled at us, questioning why the tip was ‘only’ 10%. Her demeanor was aggressive, standing over us, almost demanding a higher tip. This level of confrontation was highly inappropriate and unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. It was both uncomfortable and frankly unacceptable in any dining setting. Regarding the food, it was unremarkable and did not live up to the heightened prices. In a neighborhood celebrated for its Chinese cuisine, this was a letdown. In conclusion, my experience at New Big Wong was far from satisfactory, marred by unprofessionalism and lackluster food. I am compelled to rate it one star, and I sincerely hope no other patron has to experience such unpleasantness.
Food was great! Kind of cold inside but overall the food was great, service was good and the price for the portion sides were worth it!
