2 of my friends and I stopped by here for a quick late lunch one day and it was empty, but the ambiance and environment was very nice. We proceeded to order Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken and Garlic and Regular Naan, but were told that they didn't have tandoori chicken so we ordered Aloo Choli instead. The Aloo Choli was good, but the Butter Chicken came out watery and not as good as if the sauce was thick. The chicken that was in the butter chicken is typically the chicken that is used for Tandoori Chicken so I was confused as why we couldn't have tandoori chicken especially with the naan was already being made in the Tandoor. The regular naan was okay and the garlic naan was unexpected. Patted on with a lot of curry powder and not so much garlic. I would say overrall, everything was A-Okay.

- Friendly Service - Plentiful seating - The curries and masalas are very thin and liquidy, just like they were while in Bangalore, India a couple months back. As far as I'm concerned we've in general become accustomed to a thicker sauce here in the states. The flavors where all there though: pungent and rich. Best part: fresh out of the fryer gulab jamun hot enough to make a memorable burn in your mouth. Never forget.

***Review for DELIVERY only*** Just moved here from DC and this is my new go-to Indian delivery. I've ordered twice through Uber-eats and both times they have been fast and delicious.. as well as reasonably priced. I ordered: Chana Masala, Saag Paneer, Tandori Lamb, Dal Makhani, Chicken Biryani, garlic and regular naan and mango chutney. The only thing I will say is that if you want rice with your meal be sure to order that off the sides menu as it doesn't come with the other dishes.

$15 for inauthentic Chicken Tikka Masala? Additional $2 for Garlic Naan that doesn't taste like garlic? The only redeeming factor was probably their mango lassi, but not for $5. Wait, you let us into your restaurant but you don't open until 5:30PM? So, we get to sit and wait with water until 5:30PM? Oh? You'll let us order first? But, wait, you won't put in the order until 5:30PM. So, the food won't start cooking until 5:30PM? Then we just get to continue to sit here with our water? Lovely. I have never experienced service like this before. This experience probably goes in the books for one of my worse experience with customer service. I suppose if they told us that they weren't open yet when we enter, then I wouldn't have too much to complain about. It is extra sensitive because we were actually in a rush. Had we known that they didn't open until 5:30, believe me that we would have gone elsewhere. Since we were already there and it would have probably taken more time to go find another place - we stayed. Was it worth it? No. Was the food amazing? No. Was the service horrible? Yes. Will I return? Nope. Overall, 2 stars at best! The extra star is for their mango lassi that came promptly after I ordered it. A very disappointing experience, very unfortunate. Sigh.

(Visited 07/19/08) The food - super good. The service - terrible. What I shared with my friend: Garlic Nan, Vegetable Pullao - Saffron flavored rice cooked with seasonal vegetables, Eggplant, Onion rings. I have to give this a 3 star rating because of the bad service. The excuse the service was terrible was because we were a party of 10. After an hour and half we finally received our food as we were all getting out of our seats to leave. Walking distance from the SF Hilton.

$32 lunch, friends. Yes, you heard that right. Actually, $37 with tip. As Wyle E. Coyote would say: Yipe! That said, the food was truly fantastic, and if not for the price and the feeling of being nickel-and-dimed (a tiny, bar-sized glass of iced tea - which costs them...um? nothing? for $3 which they didn't even refill) I would eat here a lot when in SF and give it 5 stars. I usually see Indian food, at least in my neighborhood, as more of a reasonably-priced, savory option than something in the fine dining category. That, and more stuff is included in the price of the entree. I had ordered the chicken tikka masala (truly fabulous) with naan and some reita (sp? - you know, the yogurt sauce, which was the best I'd ever had) and rice. The chicken alone was $18, plus $2 for rice (which is usually included) and $4 freaking fifty for the reita. WTF? $4.50 for a small bowl of yogurt sauce with cucumbers? Holy crap. So if you want terrific food and money is no object, head on in, since your only disappointment will be the dent in your wallet.
