Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: Casual, but nicer atmosphere and environment Value: 3.5/5 Ordered oysters, seaweed salad, toro sashimi flight, sake bomb, and happy hour calamari and spicy salmon hand roll. The happy hour pricing is a good value but overall, I left feeling hungry despite ordering a decent amount with my group. The otoro may not have been the best catch, but was a bit tougher and didn’t melt in your mouth. Fish quality did taste good, but not next level. However for the tier of sushi restaurant, the quality is on par for what is expected. Service was good as the waitress was attentive. The sushi pieces are a bit smaller imo, but price point is on par to other sushi restaurants of equal caliber. Would come back though to try more!

great staff, so kind. And yummy sushi, I always recommend omakase flights & their special over al la carte here, though that roll I had with truffle sauce was really good. A bit pricey but it’s sushi in sf so I get it. Not an easy area to park, but that’s all relative here.

The server and the chef were super nice and the 8 piece Nigiri flight was pretty great! Would go again!

This is our favorite sushi place in the city. It’s nouveau style sushi: creative specials amd unusual pairings are what make this place stand out. Of course, the fish is top quality too. The only downside is that this place is so good I have begrudgingly concluded I can’t go get sushi in other cities, because I’m very likely to be disappointed. And Nara is some of the best we’ve had anywhere.
