This style of sushi is known as "Edo-mae Sushi." "Edo" refers to the former name of Tokyo during the Samurai era, and "mae" means "in front of." Originally, sushi was a very local food like tacos from a food truck in the past. In ancient Tokyo, people would get fresh seafood from Tokyo Bay and season it by themselves to preserve the freshness and flavor.

The freshest fish I've had in Dallas. We sat on the patio but will return to sit at the bar.

TLDR: phenomenal, worth every penny. The long story is as follows! We decided on an early dinner on the patio as the weather was phenomenal. The restaurant is nestled in between a couple stores however the patio is secluded with some privacy fencing that both hides you from the outside but allows in enough light and viewing to be a great experience. The spot itself is small in size and reservations are definitely going to be important. I would recommend grabbing a spot at the sushi bar if possible as the interior is phenomenaly decorated and smells amazing. After a detailed explanation of the menu by our server we started with the tuna tasting. Each slice was presented in a different and delicious way. The slices are presented devoid of wasabi or soy sauce but are served with a side of each. A slight injection of wasabi infused soy elevated the experience to another level. We moved on to the uni tasting which was again another recommendation from our server that did not disappoint. The dish came with two different types of uni. Both creamy and velvety in texture, one was slightly saltier while the other sweeter. A bowl of seaweed to wrap it up in and some soy sauce and wasabi came with the uni. Again nothing short of excellent. We finished with the sake new style, per our server recommendation again. The roll came out served already sufficiently coated in wasabi and soy sauce making it a simple grab and enjoy experience. The crunchiness of the salmon skin brought a unique experience to each bite. We will definitely be returning for more.

Exceptional in every way. Since I live in SF, I tend not to seek out sushi when I travel to Dallas but decided to check this place out. And I’m glad I did. Traditional in one sense but creative in another, attention to detail, super fresh ingredients, great service. Highly recommend. And sorry the lack of photos, I was too into the experience.

The small, intimate restaurant is wonderful to walk into with all of the indoor seating surrounding the sushi bar. The dishes are even better! They carefully made in front of you and taste incredible, with delicious, fresh ingredients. Staff is attentive without hovering. Very impressed and absolutely would recommend to anyone looking for a special date night spot or just wanting to treat yourself!

Namo is the BEST sushi and omakase spot in Dallas and I’ve tried them all. Namo rivals Tatsu in freshness and tradition but exceeds expectations in balancing with flavor profiles. Don’t skip the oysters!

Best sushi I’ve EVER had. I’ve been to every single sushi spot in Dallas and nothing else compares. Every single bite is extremely fresh and the flavors they use are incredibly unique. Don’t go anywhere else. I’ve been here about 5 times now and won’t go anywhere else for sushi.
